Review: Baviphat Peach Peeling Gel vs Laneige Strawberry Yoghurt Peeling Gel

Woh I have so many exfoliators..... I have St Ives Apricot Scrub, Queen Helene's Mint Scrub and these 2 *points up* but I've been using peeling gels since September after my crazy breakout. Anyone who wants to take over my St Ives Apricot Scrub, do leave a note here and I'll arrange the meet up time with you. Back to the topic, I'll be doing a review on these 2 products.

Baviphat's Peach Peeling Gel

The all-in-one peeling gel is a multi-function skin treatment that claims to exfoliate dead skin, minimizes pores and brightens complexion with a single application. It contains peach extracts and vitamin C to whiten and brighten skin.

Directions: Apply all over dry face avoiding eye and mouth areas. Gently massage until it starts to clump up into dry flakes then rinse with lukewarm water.

For a product that is named as a peeling gel, it certainly doesn't look like a gel ._. the Peach Peeling Gel looks like sherbet and it smells absolutely heavenly, that I definitely can't deny! It's my second favorite scent after H2O's Raspberry Guava.

Sad the tub doesn't come with a spatula so I washed my hands before dipping my fingers into the jar and scoop a generous amount. The stuff does feel a little dry and I find that it clumps and falls off easily from my face. After rinsing my face, I don't feel anything other than the fact I smell of peaches wherever I go lol. My face doesn't feel any cleaner and my blackheads are still there so even after a few days of using it, I still go back to my Mint Scrub.

Laneige Strawberry Yoghurt Peeling Gel

Yes this is a gel alright!

It contains yoghurt extract, strawberry extract and exfoliating enzyme that that helps to remove dead skin cell and give your skin a healthy look. The soft gel formula does not irritate skin. Non abrasive and suitable for all skin types.

Directions: Apply over clean dry face. Massage for 1 minute then rinse with lukewarm water.

I find the smell a bit sickening. It smells like the less stronger version of  strawberry stuff at The Body Shop. The gel comes in a liquid form which makes it easy to spread over dry face and I find that my skin condition feels smoother if i use continuously. Thank god it doesn't promise to minimize my pores or that'll be something extra to diss lol. The Laneige Strawberry Yoghurt Peeling Gel retails at RM99 and is available at Laneige counters, not sure if they've replaced the product with the MultiBerry version yet =/ should probably go get a full size tub myself sometime soon.

Conclusion

I think by now you guys should know which one I'm leaning too XD;; Yes Laneige~~~ Using Baviphat's Peach Peeling Gel hurt at some point cuz my breakouts were so bad, even touching hurts =S but I didn't suffer from using Laneige's peeling gel since it was more liruid. Although the price is a bit steep and the smells sickens me to death, as long as it works, it wins my hearts :3 What's the point in buying things that don't work anyways? Review: Artistry Essentials Balancing Kit

Artistry is a world renowned beauty brand and among the top 5 beauty brands in the world. Marketed through Amway, this brand caters to all skin problems. The beauty of buying through Amway is that it has a 90-day return policy so I decided to give it a try. Few of my pals were using it and had good results.

Bought the Starter Kit Set

The starter kit comes with 3 full-sized items. The Balancing Cleanser, Toner and Lotion which comes with SPF15. I also got the pimple gel to treat my current acne problem.

The cleanser comes in a gel form. I like gels cuz it's easy to spread so you'll only need very little for each wash. The 135ml bottle can g a looong way =D. I love how Artistry products smell <3 so gentle and sweet. The cleanser felt quite mild on my skin but it's missing that 'clean' feel I like to get after each wash. I'm starting to think maybe that's how all cleanser feels =/ It mentioned there that it exfoliates as well but I don't seem to feel the effect =( I'll explain more at the end.

The dealer told me this toner had some complications. Some of the users felt their skin itch after using it so she told me to soak the cotton pad with water and then pour the toner instead of directly applying the toner with a dry cotton pad. The toner contains some fiber at the bottom so make sure to shake the bottle before using =D. Nothing much to say about the toner, what else can I say anyways? D:

The lotion felt very lightweight and I only needed a small amount to cover my face =3 My gripe about this product is that my face will be come oily after a few hours but when I wake up in the morning, the oilyness just seem to disappear.... weird really =O

Overall, I just think my face is indestructible and Artistry just wasn't able to help me =(. I've been using the product for about 3 weeks and my face condition seem to worsen. My oil condition slightly improved but still oily. I can dab my finger to my face and see an oil stain there. What I'm very depressed is my pimples *sigh* My T-zone is pimple free but not my cheeks =(. My pimples are like nomadic beings, migrating from my t-zone to my cheeks =( searching for a place to breed for the next 6 generations *fantoi!*

What I liked about Artistry is how awesomely they smell <3 other than that, I can't use this product *sobs*

Dermadex Challenge Pack, Love or Hate

Almost a month ago, I purchased this trial pack since I had a crazy breakout season. The trial pack comes with 2 items, the cleanser (10g) and refining cream (5g). It looks small really, but the seller told me it should be able to last for a week..... it lasted more than a week because I was being kiasu with the contents and also I was alternating between Dermadex and Decleor's cleanser.

Biotox Cleanser

The cleanser is made from natural active ingredients including lavender, honey suckle and orchid flower. According to the website, it deeply penetrates skin to soften dead cells and black heads,and dissolves sebum giving the face a nice smooth sensation. According to the directions, the cleanser can be used as a mask too, leaving on the face for up to 30 minutes. I didn't dare to try in case it turns out to be like Eumora, so I left it on my face as long as I showered. The cleanser has a very nice minty smell, it feels minty too cuz I felt a cooling sensation on my skin when I leave the cleanser on =D.

Biotox Refining Cream

The first thing you'll notice about this cream is that it smells super strong of Chinese herbs D8. I just found it odd, not disturbing yet. The refining cream is set to refines pores, regulates oil secretion and prevents formation of acne on skin. It smelled too strong for me so I only used the cream on trouble areas like my pimples and my nose where it squeezes oil like crazy.

I do see improvements on my pimples but it did nothing to refine my pores =( they look as huge as ever. The actual price for the products is crazily expensive D8 Rm138 for 50ml of the Biotox cleanser. I might as well buy 5 challenge packs rite?! D8 This doesn't make sense at all =( I didn't really like the cleanser cuz I don't feel like my face has been thoroughly cleansed after using it =( so I had to double cleanse just to make my heart content.

The challenge pack is sold at RM17 in LYN forums but you'll have to add Rm4 for the postage too. Will I repurchase? only if all the products in the world don't work on me =(

Review BeautyTalk Collagen Mask

As mentioned in some posts a while back, I picked up a packet of Beauty Talk Collagen Mask while I was in Singapore. The SA in SASA was recommending it and it came in cheap at about S$1.95 while in KL it retails for RM14.90 so I decided, why not =D.

The new “Beauty Talk” Collagen Facial Mask contains a rich selection of Collagen, High Concentrations of Hyaluromic Acid, Gingko, and Aloe Essence, to immediately hydrate dry, and darker skin with Anti-Aging effect. It whitens, softens, yields elasticity, enhances sheen and exudes more firmness to your face. Have a young, hydrated skin!

Hmm interesting enough, I've always read about collagen giving some miraculous effect on the face which was another reason I wanted to try it out. Most of the masks that I bought were are to help control sebum and minimize pores.

As usual, I always have problems with the sheet mask as it's huge and folded up in the mask packet. I accidentally ripped the mask a little as I was trying to unfold it. There's another layer of paper on the mask that you'll have to peel off before using. I left it on my face for 30 minutes as advised by the SA and had such a good nap, I was tempted to leave it overnight D8. The mask is dripping with essence makes me feel like it was worth my money =P

The verdict? I see no change on my skin D8 and I should've squeezed the mask a little before leaving it on my face cuz the essence was dripping up to my neck x_X and I hated it.  Other than that, the mask was cooling and it had a pleasant smell but it's not something I would repurchase since it's RM14.90 D8.

SASA is currently having a promo for those masks at RM5.90 a piece. Didn't work for me but it might for you guys =(

My Experience with Eumora Part 2

This is not gonna be pleasant ._. What I've blogged about previously was just the first week of using Eumora. By the second week, pimples were sprouting on my face growing faster than mushrooms D: There was one of the days where I found 3 medium sized ones popping out and then the next day another THREE medium sized pimples popped up. My chin was covered with pimples of all sizes and they hurt like crazy when I smile. I had to constantly apply the mint mask to soothe the pain. These pimples were difficult to treat and had multiple oil seeds in them. They hurt so much when I popped them that I nearly cursed out loud at home.

I've stopped the Eumora and am keeping to the usual cleanser and toner + ampoules hoping to get rid of them. Yesterday I found a bump under my chin, my mom got paranoid so she kicked me to the nearest doctor for a visit. Turns out it was a lymph node that was caused by the pimples on my chin. This is quite new to me since I've never read about this in bloggers review. I know some of them had bad experiences but never this bad =( so you could add this to your list of shit that Eumora can cause D8 for those who are interested in trying. I'm sadly one of the 5% that suffered so badly from this innocent bar of soap =(

Tropical Refreshing Fruits

I found something at SASA! *O* Found it last week when I went to watch Inception but I was lazy to charge my camera *_*;;;

Biore just released their Limited Edition Refreshing Fruits pore pack! *_* I saw it in SASA last week when me and Megu popped by before the movie. Price was the same as the other pore packs RM12.90 just that this limited edition pore pack comes in Orange and Pineapple flavors (5 strips each)! I've been looking for a pore pack so this came just in time *_*

The packaging is just so adorable~

I love how vibrant and colorful the packaging is <3 I tried on a strip yesterday. Wet the nose before applying the strip =D and then rip it off after 10-15 minutes >D I tried the Orange one and I must comment on how lovely it smells! It doesn't have the artificial smell that I was expecting but rather a nice tangy scent <3. I didn't see any blackheads or whiteheads extracted onto the pore sheet D8 probably cuz my nose was too dry =/, I'll try it again next time.

Review: Skinlite Relax Soothing Aloe Masque

I saw a couple of these masks going on sale at SASA quite cheaply so I picked a few to try. The mask comes in a 10g packet and 3 flavors, Aloe, Cucumber and Green Tea. Started on the Aloe first, hoping it would soothe my current breakouts. 10 grams could last at least 5 applications for me as the mask comes in a gel form so it's quite easy to spread on my face.

Transferred to a jar =D

Color looks almost similar to my Garnier Aqua Defense moisturizer. Apply the mask on a cleansed face. My skincare regime has been cut short since I'm using the Eumora soap now so I apply this mask once or twice a week (or whenever I can remember haha) if I'm not using Laneige's Sleeping Mask. I would highly recommend to stash this mask in the fridge before using, it feels like putting some comfortable ice on my face~ *sighs happily* My face does feel softer after rinsing the mask off but other than that, I don't see any other effects on my face XD;; It's a nice cheap mask to be used on a hot day though =)

Review: Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque

I'm on a review roll! I found out that besides St Ives, Queen Helene's scrub is also a star product with many good reviews so I ordered one bottle as the price is quite decent (around RM23 including shipping). Sadly this product isn't available in Malaysia so I had to join one of the spree threads in LYN. Item came in after 2 months, gosh I almost forgot all about it, but instead of a scrub, I found a Masque instead *stares* and my scrub is nowhere to be seen until now D8 The person managing the spree accidentally packed the wrong item in x_X thankfully the rest of the items are exactly what I ordered.

Anyways, this mask comes in a big tube, about 226.8 grams, quite a decent amount for that price. The tube material is very thick @_@ I suspect I might have difficulties squeezing it out when it's about to finish.  The mask is said to dry up pimples, shrink large pores and rinses away bleakheads. Now that definitely sounds like a solution for my nose area 8D;; The mask comes in an icky seaweed green color and smells minty or in Audrey's words 'Smells like Clorets!'. Suitable for those with oily skin as it latches on all the impurities and oil on your pores. After I applied it, I felt a burning sensation on my skin @A@;;; like someone applied cili padi on my face haha but the feeling didn't last very long. Left the mask on for 15 minutes and then rinsed my face with warm water.

I'm not sure if it removes my blackheads as I've never be able to tell =3=;; but I can tell you that my face feels much cleaner. I used it quite often lately as it relieves the pain on my pimples x__X. I've been suffering from huge breakouts thanks to the Eumora. Phillip says that it's the soap doing its job of detox-ing my face and the pimples should be gone by week 3. These are really some of the worst pimples I've ever had ;_; oil seeds are coming out non stop from the same pimple *facepalms* and my chin is suffering the worst *sigh* The pimples are so bad till it hurts to touch it D8 and they're so sensitive, I've accidentally popped it too many times in a day. Hope this phase passes by soon x_X.

Review: Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil Fresh

Ah yes~ The famed cleansing oil is now in my hands mwahahhahahahahaha *coughs*. It took me 2 years to buy it =w=;; All this while I've attended their cleansing oil demos and seen good results so I thought of buying it but being a student, it's really pricey to spend RM260 at one go for a cleansing product D8 Now that I'm working, it's an entirely different thing! *_* I bought the cleansing oil some time last month as they had a RM10 rebate for every RM100 spent so me and Ying Ling got a bottle of cleansing oil each and the eyelash curlers as well. Both which are the star items of Shu Uemura. Oh yeah, we both became Shu members too =D I got the pink bottle as it's suitable for oily or acne prone skin :3

I came home and immediately opened the cleansing oil and started using it. After cleansing my face, I still had the greasy/oily feeling on my face but after patting my face dry, I get this velvety feeling on my face which feels kind of weird. At first I thought maybe I didn't wash it properly, but even after a week of using and rinsing it 5-6 times, I still get that greasy/oily feeling so end up I had to use 2 cleansers just to have my face clean. Other than that, it works as a great makeup remover but honestly, I could achieve that with Fasio's makeup remove and Biore's cleansing wipes and that only costs less than RM50 altogether!

This is just my opinion on the product. I'm sadly one of the 10% of the population that can't use this D8. Most of the reveiws are good if you check online. If anyone's interested, I'm selling this away for RM190 (450ml) used less than 10 times. My Experience with Eumora

Nao's brother Phillip recommended this soap to me I think at least a year ago but I refused to use it cuz being stubborn as I am, I was hoping for a skincare product that could suit my problematic face. I'm suffering from majorly huge acne breakouts, skin that is oily enough to remove liquid eyeliner off my eyes and dry cheeks. With the amount of freebies I'm grabbing and trying, I thought I'd sure find the perfect skin care solution for me but this month my acne just got a lot much worse =(. I tried switching my skin care, changing my diet and slept before 12 =( but after 2 weeks, all I see is more pimples popping up like mushrooms.... there were about 5 HUGE ones around my chin area ONLY!! *screams and tears hair*

After debating so long, I finally decided to order a bar of soap from Phillip since it was only RM50 a bar now. This product is your one stop solution for every skin problem and it replaces your cleansers, toners, moisturizers, serums, sunblock to give you radiant flawless skin. Now wonder why am I so skeptical about this product? So starting from Last Monday, I halted all my skincare products and only used the soap... and I was flying in the clouds for the rest of the week!

24 hours after using the soap, the 2 major pimples on my nose was going down and they were less red! From the looks of it, they shouldn't leave a scar on my face! <3 The last time I had these pimples around that area, it took ages to disappear and the scar was there for at least 1 month+ before it disappeared!!! Day 2, I start to notice that my pores are not so gigantic and my face looks less saggy =D Some areas on my skin seems to be flaky and there's some small scabs near the places where my skin is peeling. I searched online and seems like this is the effect of the products as it dries the skin to kill the pimples. The drying sensation is also caused by the combined effect of pore tightening and the skin peeling is the removal of dead skin cells while the tightening feeling is the firming effect (description taken from A Beauty Haven). Can it be, my pore tightens and squeezes out the dirt? 8D I hope so!

While I was using the soap, I noticed that it smelled terrible, turns out it was just the smell of the dirt surfacing on my face o___o. I'm superbly happy with this soap~~~~ =D so I won't be hunting cleansers for a loooong while *_*

Review: Laneige Water Bank_EX range

Some 2 weeks ago, I was one of the lucky participants to be given this Water Bank trial kit. The catch is we're suppose to fill up a survey form in 2 weeks time. I've just received my survey form and I thought of posting my thoughts about this range here. Laneige recommends 4 steps after cleansing the face. The skin refiner comes first which acts as a toner followed by the balancing emulsion which helps the skin absorb moisture better. Then comes the essence and cream which will give your skin a big moisture boost =D Notice how some products have the number 2 on it? Well that indicates that this range is suitable for people with combination skin =D

Laneige Power Essential Skin Refiner Light_EX

As mentioned earlier, the skin refiner acts as a toner. It effectively restores sebum balance and reduces oily zone leaving the skin soft and fresh for better moisture absorption. I find this product very nice and cooling when applied on my skin but for those with pimpled faces, brace yourselves for it's gonna be a rough ride!

Laneige Balancing Emulsion 2_EX

Laneige has been kind enough to customize this range to suit all skin types. Luckily, I got type 2 which is for combination skin, type 1 should be for normal skin if I'm not mistaken. The balancing emulsion is oil free and comes with anti-oxidant and firming qualities. I found out during the briefing that emulsion helps improve the moisture absorption from rest of the skin care products (eg: moisturisers, creams, etc). I have nothing to comment about the emulsion, except the packaging. Oh boy it was difficult trying to get the emulsion out onto the cotton pad, without using my manly powers >_>. It's as difficult as trying to get old ketchup sauce out from the bottle!! At first I thought that maybe the emulsion I got was old or expired but turns out other participants are having the same trouble.

Laneige Water Bank Essence_EX

The essence circulates moisture from deep within the skin, protecting the skin from losing moisture while strengthening cells and increasing skin renewal rate. This light serum contains extracts of soya bean, blueberries, honey, yeast and shea butter. Given the list of extracts here, I'm expecting my skin to be soft and velvety by the end of the survey =). The essence comes in a pump bottle so I didn't struggle with it =P and just as described, it's a very light serum that spreads easily all over my face.

Laneige Water Bank Cream 2_EX

This light weight water based cream provides a moisture barrier on the skin for up to 12 hours. I love the smell of the cream but find it too sticky when applied to my skin ><

Overall: During the 2 weeks I was using the product, I did not experience anything new. I still get breakouts and my face often feel sticky with a layer of oil. Add in my struggle with the emulsion bottle, I honestly don't feel like following this skin routine.

Clinique Review Again

Clinique gave me quite a generous amount of samples and I really like how interactive their site is =D. Few months ago, I dropped by their counter to redeem my 2 piece gift ended up got 5 pieces~ =D I got the 3-step skincare and foundation + pressed powder that suited my skin tone.

It wasn't my plan to try their makeup since their 3-step skincare regime made my skin itch and the redness on my nose and forehead got worse. With all my interviews and work last week, I had to wear makeup almost everyday. I already wore my Naturactor foundation during my interviews which was my only foundation >< and a little too thick for daily use so I tried Clinique's foundation for the 3 days I worked as a flyer girl.

Makeup A to Z for this neko~

A thin layer of moisturizer. For me, I use Garnier's Aqua Defense Moisturizer.

Next comes my trusty Dr Feelgood from Benefit to help maintain a matte face. Applied extra on my nose area to last for the whole day.

Now comes the foundation. The SA gave me the Superfit foundation for oily skin =D

Touch up with Clinique's Stay-Matte Sheer Pressed powder.

So far the combo works really well for me, I only touch up twice during the 9 hours of work =D. Will invest in the powder when I have money, the foundation is very light and barely any coverage though so I'm still leaning onto Bobbi Brown's XD

Review: Clarins HydraQuench Cream-Mask

Recently I was told that hydrating and moisturizing are 2 totally different things so I did some research and true enough. Hydrating refers to the balance of water content in your skin and moisturizing is the balance of sebum or oil. If you have combination skin like me then moisturizing and hydrating products are very important D8. Oh wells, we learn something new everyday~!

God knows how long I've received this sample but there's too many masks to try, nearly forgot about this baby. I'm always been told by beauticians (At salons and cosmetic counters) that my face is dehydrated at the cheeks and oily at the T-zone so I ransacked through my pouch of masks for something to hydrate my skin.

Tadaa~ The key product of Clarins HydraQuench range.

The HydraQuench range contains bark from Katafray trees which helps to increase hydration and restore moisture balance. The masks acts like a cream so you don't need to necessarily wash it off as it'll be absorbed into your skin =D As mentioned in the website: Apply morning and/or evening to thoroughly cleansed face and neck. May be applied throughout the day when dehydration makes skin feel uncomfortable.

Unlike most masks, this one comes in a tube so unlucky for you cheapskates, you won't be able to 'lick' it clean =P Smack a decent layer of the white cream mask onto your skin and leave it for 5 - 15 minutes. Go ahead and check in the mirror if you're interested, you'll notice that some of the cream has been absorbed after a while. As for me, my cheeks absorbed most of the cream where as I still see the white layer around the T-zone. Once you're satisfied, wipe the remaining mask with a cotton pad soaked with toner. I had nice bouncy cheeks for my date the very next day and Jared commented that my face look good~ =D

All in all, the product works =D just a little warning for those with sensitive skin, you might feel a prickle as though tiny red ants nibbling gently on your face when you apply the mask D8 I'm not sure what this means but I'll ask the SA today once I submit my thesis to the print shop =P

The Clarins HydraQuench Cream-Mask retails for RM135 for 75ml. A 5ml sachet can last for 2 uses so do the math and it's RM4.50 each time you use it. Sounds ok to me! =D

Review: Dermalogica CleanStart Range

Having a proper skincare regimen is important and I've only got to learn that when I was 18 as my mum insisted that just daily face cleansing would be sufficient. Once I started work, I took the initiative to do more product research and bought products to try. Only recently I have a complete skincare set (as in cleanser, scrub, toner and moisturizer) and my breakouts have finally calmed down (or maybe it's just the hormones).

A foaming wash containing orange peel and and salicyclic acid to remove impurities, bacteria and extra oil which explains the mild citrus scent XD Nothing much to mention about this cleanser.

Ready, Set Scrub
Serves as a masque and a scrub, Ready to Scrub only needs to be massaged and leave in for 5 minutes giving the refreshing menthol feeling that helps to reduce skin redness. This scrub is really different from the scrubs I've previously used. The scrub contains tiny Silica granules that help polish the face. It feels like rubbing sand paper on your face and I'm being totally honest here though I find my face feeling more refreshed using BodyShop's Tea Tree mask.

Bedtime for Breakouts

Welcome Matte Spf15
A lightweight lotion, non-oily formula that doesn't clog pores. Acts as a light moisturizer that minimizes shine while hydrating skin. Most importantly, Welcome Matte Spf 15 provides protection against the harsh sun rays.

Overall Thoughts: I'm quite satisfied with the Bedtime for Breakouts and Ready, Set, Scrub. The Bedtime for Breakouts is a non cream moisturizer which is suitable for people with super oily skin like me. As the gel spreads easily, the sachet provided is enough for 2-3 usages. I like the harsh scrubbing feeling when I use Ready, Set, Scrub. Some might find it feels as though someoe ripping your skin off but it depends on how hard you scrub your face. The rough scrubbing makes my face feel clean but not refreshing as the menthol effect isn't as strong as I expected it to be.

I wouldn't recommend Welcome Matte Spf15 if you're looking for a good sunscreen. There's lots of other brands available in the pharmacies with a higher SPF number. The highest as I'm aware off is SPF130 from SunPlay which is suitable for face and body. I'll highly recommend a sunscreen SPF50 and above if you're exposed to the outdoors on a daily basis as the heat and wheather overall in Malaysia is crazy

All though the range is targeted to teens age 15-25, the price says otherwise XD;; Each product ranges from RM85+ to RM120+ and to have the whole set would require an arm and leg especially if you're surviving on a student's income. I heard the lipbalm tastes like cake! haha~

Review: Montagne Jeunesse Blemish Mud Face Masque

Special mud blend of Aloe Vera, Willow, Rosemary and WitchHazel to target problem areas for a clean complexion

I've so many masks try and only one face @A@ Today, Montagne won my heart for it's fun and bright looking package XD Each pack is filled with 20g of mud which can last for 2 generous uses. Only applies to small faces XP. 

After cleansing, apply a generous amount on face or if you're stingy, just target the T-zone. The smell is pretty unique but I won't say it's a lovely smell XD;; The mask dries up very fast o.o in less than 3 minutes if my count is right. The directions stated to wash off mask after 10-15 minutes or when it dries. I was a bit worried since 3 minutes is very short for a mask so I waited for another 5 minutes when washed it off. 

I notice my nose goes a bit red after washing the masks off but this only applies for certain masks. Other than that, my face feels a lot smoother now =D Montagne Jeunesse masks retails for RM5.90 and guardian is having a promotion, 50% off for the second mask.
