Room8008 Hamper Promo

Hi all! Just one to share a belated promo that Room 8008 had. This is one boutique on my favorite list as she brings in such cute clothes! They get swapped so fast, a good half of them are gone before you see it on her site ;A; Anyways, once a year, Room 8008 releases 50 hamper bags of randomly mixed clothes, shoes and accessories for an affordable price. The concept is just like the Lucky Bag concept in Isetan :)

This year, the hamper contains a mix and match of clothes, bags, shoes and accessories all selected and paired up by the owner herself! The hamper comes in recycle bag with Room 8008's label on it and each hamper is worth RM150 to RM200. The sweetest deal is that all these hampers are up for only RM39.90!!!! All the hampers were sold out within AN HOUR @__@ and thankfully I manage to snag one hehe~ XD

Went to collect from her shop :D
Room 8008 has a physical shop located on the 7th floor of Berjaya Times Square. I went to collect the hamper from her rather than having it delivered as it's been awhile since I last browsed her shop :) Doesn't the shop look super cute? :D

Shoes and accessories on display
Lots of colourful clothes available for any occasion :D
All the hampers prepped to be sent out to her eager customers!
Me and the owner of Room 8008, Ms Chen. Coincidentally, the sailor top I'm wearing was bought from her store :P
She'll be getting more new stocks pretty soon, so keep track of her new arrivals at http://room8008.blogspot.com/ or her Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/roomchen?fref=ts In the mean time, check out what I got :D

Dress, pants and cropped top all for only RM39.90~ :D
Crap I realize I did a lot of shopping this month @___@ Too many good bargains T3T....... Checkout my hauls from Zalora next! >w</

Keratin & Scalp Hair Treatment @ Glamor House, Bangsar

More girly time! The last time me and Audrey went for a pampering together was for the manipedi at Pavilion. This time is hair treatment! XD I wonder will we be going for massage next just to complete the whole bestie pamper session from top to toe lol.

Spotted that Groupon had a Keratin Hair Treatment deal on their site. I got to know about the Brazillian Keratin Hair Treatment from Tammy's blog, you can read about her experience here. The treatment looks so promising but at a cut throat price of RM500 onwards, it wasn't something I could afford especially when the treatment can only last 2-3 months =(.

The deal I got from Groupon :D
The Brazillian Keratin Hair Treatment is not your normal chemical treatment. Most would think that it's like rebonding or any other straightening treatment but it's actually more of a restoring treatment. The Brazillian Keratin Hair Treatment is designed to help reduce frizziness, restores shine and strengthens hair.

Other benefits of the Keratin hair Treatment include
  • Reduce need to use styling tools
  • Reduces blow drying time by 40%
  • Hair is shinier and silkier
  • Repairs damaged hair\
  • No known side effects
Seems like a one stop solution to have fabulous hair right? Yea.. that's how I got suckered to getting that deal :D (same goes for Audrey haha!)

The Groupon deal package includes
  1. 1 hour Keratin Treatment (RM650 value)
  2. 30 minute scalp treatment (RM130 value)
  3. 30 minute wash, blow and styling (RM50 value)
Glamor House is set in a bungalow located in the heart of Bangsar, it's located along a small lane right before the Petronas station at Jalan Maarof. If you're not careful, you could miss the turn easily like Audrey did HAHA.
Glamor House!
There's parking in front of the bungalow but it was full to the brim when I arrived but don't fret, there's always illegal parking on the side of the road 8D *gets slapped* As you can see, Glamor House also provides other pampering services like facials, manipedi, slimming and aromatherapy treatments. There's even a playing area for the kids so that busy parents can enjoy their pampering session with ease.

Hair Styling section
The hair stylist section has glass windows overlooking the busy road of Jalan Maarof so you can see whether it's 'safe' to leave the salon before the traffic catches up LOL XD. Quite a spacious area but only able to fit up to roughly 6 customers. There's also a mini bar area there so they serve you some drinks during the long treatment hours.

Audrey started first since she arrived first
The stylist started of with the scalp treatment first. The scalp treatment deep cleanses and clears up all the grim and dirt from the scalp while relaxes, protects and soothes hair.

Hair carefully separated according to sections to apply the treatment
After applying the treatment, the stylist then started massaging the scalp to improve product penetration, stimulate the blood vessels and nerves under the skin while calming the tension on the neck and head :D Super love the massage as the stylist massaged the same areas twice. The treatment was left on for about 10-15 minutes, after a while, I felt a cooling sensation on my head, like a whole of mentos melted on my head lol. I guess it could be the product taking effect :D

Next came the Keratin treatment!

Audrey's hair partitioned to sections

Hair was partitioned to sections allowing the treatment to cover all areas. There was no small from the treatment which kind of surprised me as I've read that some girls went for the keratin treatment and there was a bad smell while they were having their treatment. The smell was so toxic that the hair stylists wear masks during the treatment Turns out, the Keratin treatment used at Glamor House has no Formaldehyde-free :D so it's very safe.

Although Formaldehyde-free treatments are safe, they don't last as long as the Keratin treatment promises. I got to know from the stylist that their Keratin treatment only lasts for 1 1/2 months! but the duration can be extended as you continue to do it often. Sad fact for me since I can't afford to pay the actual price :( but I appreciate his honesty and good to know that the salon used the Formaldehyde-free formula as Formaldehyde is very toxic and can cause immediate short term irritation of eyes, skin and upper respiratory tract.

She seems happy with the result? XD;;
The treatment is left on for 20 minutes then the stylist seals it using the heat of a flat iron
You can start to see the result of the treatment :D
I enjoyed the service at the salon :D, the staff is really friendly and always concerned for your comfort hehe. After the treatment, he told us we could enjoy 2 more treatments at the same price we paid for Groupon! but sadly it has to be paid in advance. I wasn't so keen on it as I wanted to wait out and see more of the results of the treatment so I declined >< Happy to say he didn't push us to sign on the package :)

After the treatment, we weren't allowed to wash our hair for the next 48 hours. I thought it was gonna be 48 hours of pure hell as from my previous experience, my hair already gets greasy, full of grime and itches like mad after the first day. To my surprise, my hair still remained fresh and grime free after the first 24 hours, only at the last half day did I start to find it greasy.

Right now it's been a week after my treatment and I'm quite happy with it. There's less hair attached to my comb now :P A bit sad that I can't afford this treatment to maintain my hair.

Thoughts on the Bag of Love

I first heard about the beauty box trend when VT debuted their beauty box in Singapore. It didn't take long for the fad to reach our shores and to date, we have about 7-8 beauty box brands available locally. Each offering an assortment of brands under their belt.

Truthfully I was quite interested in trying out the beauty box experience myself... but none of them have captured my interest so far.... until the Bag of Love came along and snuck itself into my 'To Buy' list! Oh noesssssss *dies*

The Bag of Love is one of its kind as it's a 'beauty box' that comes to your doorstep in a bag :D Founded by Mi Mi Teh, a former beauty writer for some of Malaysia's top women's magazines. The products are carefully selected and packaged by Mi Mi herself! and it comes at an affordable price of RM39.90! Given the chance, I would love to experience the Bag of Love myself for so many reasons *O*/

1. Dat Bag!
Picture credits to Bag of Love
Check out their debut bag for the month of March. I'm totally impressed at the effort done for this bag *O*, colors remind me of Victoria Secret merchandise It's not noticeable in the picture but even the bag itself has its own golden label! :) Not only that, the contents of the bag are also just as impressive as the bag itself. By the way, the bag designs change every month which is just awesome hehe~ just perfect since it'll be weird to have the same bag design every month @_@.... we'll end up having lots of spares at home LOL

2. The Promise: 5 Deluxe Samples

Contents of their March debut box
Look at all those itemsssss *O* they're all deluxe samples and there's even a full size brush!!! The amount of items in that bag are definitely worth every penny spent! I like that there are no sachet samples in the bag as we can always get those kind of samples free from the counter. On top of the 5 deluxe samples, they've also thrown in a couple of surprises like a free movie pass and also gift vouchers :D

3. Personality, I like :)

Unlike other brands, Bag of Love has a cute mascot representing Mi Mi herself :) +100 points from me as I loved how Bag of Love has been using the mascot to communicate with the fans. I do feel a close connection to the brand already and I haven't even subscribed yet XD;;

4. Surprises That Just keep Coming
Last but not least, the little hints that Mi Mi leaves on the Facebook page just keeps me coming back for more <3 Just to drop a hint here..... :D
Bag of Love's theme for April :D
There's also more hints about April's bag, just head over to their Facebook page or their website~

Juice Beauty, The Organic Solution

They say you are what you eat and the saying also applies to what your skin 'eats'. Did you know that the skin absorbs 60% of what is placed on it? Of course that doesn't mean we have to stop our skincare regime and go all naturale. It's all on finding the right products with the right ingredients for your skin~

Few weeks ago, I collected a Juice Beauty box from Tammy from OnlyBeauty. The box reminds me a lot of the beauty box hype that's invading the blogsphere XD;; The brand Juice Beauty isn't new to me as I've heard about their store opening in The Gardens back in 2010 but it has never really occurred to me to try out their products.

Tadaaahhhh my Beauty Box! :3
When I first got the box, I squealed cuz it looks so cute like a vintage lunch box!!! :D

Summary of Juice Beauty's brand info
The box even has a handle so you can carry it around! :D

Juice Beauty's mission is to bring high efficiency, authentically organic and pleasurable beauty solutions to people worldwide. What makes Juice Beauty so special is that their products have 100% certified organic juice base which brings the total organic content up to 98% in every product. Because of their high organic content, Juice Beauty's organic products is also believed to give better age defying and blemish clearing results compared to conventional products.

I won't bore you with anymore statistics so to read up more on Juice Beauty, please head to http://www.juicebeauty.com/ haha. For a brand that started in 2005, they have quite a wide product line ranging from skin care to hair care and even makeup as well! Onward to revealing the box contents! :D

Juice Beauty goodness all in a box :)
Products inside the box

  1. Cleansing Gel
  2. Oil-Free Moisturizer
  3. Blemish Clearing Serum
  4. Stem Cellular Repair Moisturizer
  5. Stem Cellular Eye Treatment
Thank you OnlyBeauty for the goodies! *O* Upon opening the box, I could immediately smell the citrus scent from the products <3. Super love the scent compared to the fragrant flowery kind of scents :D. Today during my shower, I tried the cleansing gel

Nice travel size :D Should probably leave at bf's house and use it when I stayover hehe
Juice Beauty Cleansing Gel, a refreshing blend of certified organic, antioxidant cherry and lemon juices, purifying botanicals and soothing cleansers to gently remove impurities to clarify and balance, while protecting skin's natural moisture.

Surprisingly it has an open-close pump! :D Makes it perfect for travel as it prevents the contents from leaking into your luggage.
Only need this much for my face :)
Oh yes no kidding, I only needed that much for my face as the gel spreads pretty easily. Color kinda reminds me of a more concentrated fruit enzyme, even the smell smells like the fruit enzyme my mum used to have at home haha!

After cleansing, my face doesn't feel tight or have the 'squeaky' effect which is good :). My current cleanser was giving me problems since I always feel like there's slight oily residue after cleansing but I've always ignored it since it does a good job of balancing my face oil. Lets see if Juice Beauty can help balance my face oiliness too hehe <3

Note: Products were provided by OnlyBeauty but whatever I've expressed here is entirely based on my own understanding and opinion. Again, thank you OnlyBeauty for the opportunity :) Do join their member's circle at http://www.onlybeauty.com.my/ as there's lots of opportunities to get samples to try before you invest in the full-sized product.
