OnlyBeauty - Your One Stop Freebie Site

Oh yes you saw that right, FREEBIES. I've always love the idea 'Try Before You Buy' that was implemented by Kiehl's whereby customers can take home samples of the product for a proper trial before buying the full size product. It makes the customer feel good when they invest in a full size product knowing that it will definitely give results!

After I was introduced to Kiehl's concept, I started looking for samples to try before buying the full size product as I had very sensitive and acne prone skin :D Unfortunately not many brands carry the same ritual. Either the brand doesn't carry samples or suffer under the scrutiny of the salesperson for the next 15 minutes if you request for one >_<. Others would use the samples as an extra bonus for their customers if they purchase anything. I mostly get the scrutinized.... can't help it if I don't doll myself in skin tight clothes and heels when I visit the counter =_=. Feel paiseh asking for sample when they give me that look ;__; but I don't want to pay RMXX and not get the results I want.......

Now thanks to a group of people who understand those concerns of mine (and tons of other females XD), I introduce to you OnlyBeauty an online beauty portal that provides the latest beauty information, promotions, product workshops and yes, FREEBIES~!!!!

OnlyBeauty's site. They've went through a revamp comparing to the last time I visited the site. Feels a lot of more user friendly now :P
Freebies listed for the day :D
Just sign up on their website and you'll be one step closer to getting those freebies! Of course, nothing comes free without a little effort~ Once you've registered an ID on OnlyBeauty, you can apply for your desired sample by clicking on the 'Apply Now' button. Then just kick back and stalk the Successful Applicant List, praying hard that you'll get the sample you applied for!

No need to spend time and money to travel and ask for sample,

No more bottles of dusty skincare bottles rotting at the corner of your room,

and best of all.....

No more suffering from the judging glares of the salesperson ಠ_ಠ

Check out the participating brands from OnlyBeauty! Not only they give out freebies for drugstore products, they also have counter product samples!!!! hohohohoho~

Havaianas 50th Anniversary (50 Anos)

The renowned Brazilian flip-flop brand Havaianas marked it's 50th year this 2012. Quite an accomplishment for a brand that has only been selling flip flops XD. To celebrate their 50 years of success, Havaianas launched their limited edition of flip flops. This limited edition 50th Anniversary pair is a tribute to Havaianas original design featuring 2 coloured soles and baby blue straps. Only 50,000 pairs of this model were produced and all proceeds will be donated to UNICEF to support its projects in Brazil.

During the celebration period, Havaianas Malaysia organized sort of a lucky draw where they had about 80 Havaianas 50 Anos pairs to be given away :D. All you had to do was fill up a form and you'll be in the running to win Havaianas merchandise!

Honestly I don't own any Havaianas flip flops as they're quite pricey. I do own a pair of Ipanema and it already feels like my wallet is crying blood D: So thank you Havaianas Malaysia for the lovely gift >w< who knows you guys could be converting me into a Havaianas addict once I put these babies on hehe~

Collected my prize today :D
Specially designed box for a special pair~~~
Tadaa! :D
2 different sole colours to represent the first Traditional Havaianas :3
With the pin of the year they started.
Oh gosh now I'll never dare wear these out since they're limited edition!!!! TAT *gets smacked in the head*

Tosaya Japanese Restaurant @ Taman Midah, Cheras

My next expedition brought me to a Japanese restaurant nestled near the rows of hawker centres in Taman Midah. Really, I never expected a Japanese Restaurant to be here since the next road has a string of hawker centers until my friend recommended me this place to meet up for dinner.

The front of the restaurant :D
From the front door, it doesn't look like your average Sushi King restaurant. The front is hard to miss since to Tosaya word is kinda big :D You'll see this the moment you turn into the junction.

The interior that greets us at the entrance. Oooohhh look some familiar faces! :D
My company for the evening. Misao missing from the picture cuz he was late T_T
Tables separated by dividers for more privacy.
Japanese patterned bowls, cups and teapots decorated on the walls along the cashier~
Main reason we came to this place was for the All You Can Eat Wagyu Beef!!! Ohohohoho You can choose between sukiyaki or shabu-shabu to cook your beef. 2 person for only RM88 for All You Can Eat WAGYU Beef heheh why not!! My doctor asked me to eat more beef since I had low iron count so I thought it'll be a good opportunity to pig out :D. Sadly luck wasn't on our side as the waitress told us that their stock of beef is kinda low so the Beef Buffet is Out of Stock for now...... *SOBSSSSS*

All You Can Eat Wagyu spread on the menu *sobs*
End up we had to order something else *sniffs*. I picked something from the bento sets. We saw that there were some stuffs wrapped in bacon so decided to give it a go.

Char Siu Ramen
Enoki Bacon. Enoki mushrooms wrapped with bacon
Gyoza
My Salmon with Chicken bento set
Junnie's Beef Mayo bento set.
Quails egg wrapped with Bacon and also some Chicken + Onions
Presentation of the sets are not bad and surprisingly filling despite the small salmon piece I had ._. The chicken given in the salmon set was a bit tough and tasted almost like the Karage chicken at Marufuku (of course... Marufuku is better sad to say). As for the bacon wrapped quails egg, you can probably see in the photos that it's not very appetizing.... it isn't and the bacon is VERY small ._.

I find the pricing a little steep for what I got so far. Bento sets range from RM23+ onwards. My Salmon set was RM29 if not mistaken and I'm not that happy for the tough chicken in that set. Even the bacon wrapped items was about RM6.

The restaurant is kinda small, can't really cater to big groups. I recommend you better make a reservation before coming over especially during peak periods the place can get a bit crowded. Ambiance was nice but the crowd that was there when I was dining was horrible as there were 2-3 kids running around screaming their heads off so I sent them a glare to shut them up....

Even though I've got quite some complaints over the food but I'm still keen on trying their beef set hoho~

Ended the night with some sake :D

Thye Shin & Ai Ling's Wedding @ Melaka

Ahhh lazy lazy me can never maintain a blog at this rate @__@;; Give me a week off, and it'll be difficult for me to come back and write something T__T. Went to attend a wedding during one of the weekends. It was the first time I had to attend a wedding in another state so we rounded up a few friends and took a day trip there. Needless to say that with a one-day trip to Melaka + bunch of people = makan session!

Had onigiri for lunch at Niko-Niko Onigiri before we started our journey
Made a pit-stop at Seremban to get some Siew Pau. When it comes to Siew Pau in Seremban, Empayar Seremban Siew Pau floods the whole area. Seriously I think there's like 5-6 shops scattered all around the place including on the highway but the place we wanted to go is one of the hipster smaller shops located in the city.
Hipster shop! Kee Mei Siew Pow :D
The shop is located in one of the smaller roads nearby KFC. Even the shop itself is almost barely noticeable XD;; I found the place when I made a pit-stop at Seremban.

Welcome~~~~
Siew Pao~~~
Other pastries available~

While browsing FourSquare, we also found another place that is famous for its cendol. Since we were around the area, why not have a try? :D

Impossibly hard to miss stall, Haji Shariff's Cendol, very green OAO
Only one person to prepare the cendol O_O
Everything is green in this place! The tiles, floor, tables, chairs and even the uniform! There's many types of cendol here but we ordered the normal and the cendol pulut since it was recommended in FourSquare.
Cendol served within minutes :D in a double layered stainless steel bowl.
I'm not a fan of cendol so I can't give any comment on it :P but the rest say it's so-so. After all the distraction in Seremban, we continued our journey to Melaka~

Reached! ^o^V
We reached the hotel about 5pm+ so we had plenty of time to change and do our makeup~ Too bad there's no showers for us T_T felt so stickyyyy.

Lepak before the event!
The table near the reception showing the couples photos and a doodle section~
Audrey in her 4-inch heels almost towering everyone else lol

The wedding ballroom :D
Outfit for the night~ Finally get to wear my asymmetrical skirt from Supre \*O*/ Think I might need to trim the length cuz it makes my legs look short ><
Me and Audrey~ Now my face shape looks different @_@
Peeps at our table~
Next table full of happy MMU-ians
Enter the bride and groom~! Congrats to them! :D
Another highlight for the night was a VERY drunk Fazri.
So ghey~
Videos of Fazri shall be uploaded on to my FB soon~ hehehehe >D

Scalp & Hair Beauty Workshop by René Furterer

A woman's hair is her crowning glory. We pay a lot of attention to our hair because everyone else will. It's one of the first things people notice at a first glance. Thanks to all the social pressure, we women spend a lot of time to make sure we tame that insane mane of ours before we step out of the house. It's frikkin serious business and René Furterer knows it!

Last week I received an invite from Tammy to attend René Furterer's Scalp and Hair Beauty Workshop organized by OnlyBeauty. Was quite keen to attend since I've been wanting to get my scalp analyzed :D Last time I went for a scalp analysis at Himalaya but unfortunately I applied some essential oils so they couldn't tell me the status of my scalp T_T. This time I made sure I leave the house with my unruly hair..... *wears paper bag on head*

"Beautiful hair grows from a healthy scalp like a plant in fertile soil" -René Furterer 1957

Of course, to have beautiful hair, one will have to know how to take care of their scalp. For over 50 years, René Furterer designed treatment products that treat both scalp and hair. Their treatment products are based on plat extracts and essential oils, well known for their therapeutic properties. These ingredients naturally provide hair with the elements to improve its health and beauty. The following pictures are a mixture of mine and some stolen from Arisa because I'm a bad photographer =(

Speaker for the day: Mr Damien, PFDC Asia Pacific Trainer
Damien introduced René Furterer's hair care range which consist of 18 types of treatments stretching to over 50 products as each treatment has their own type of shampoo, conditioner, sprays and etc. Instead, I'll spare you the long post and direct you to their product ranger here: René Furterer Product Range. As you can see they have treatments catered to almost any type of hair condition. Products can be mixed depending on hair condition as well.

René Furterer also created a scalp and hair care method that is recommended to optimize the growth of strong, healthy and beautiful hair.

The first step starts with a scalp massage. Massages have a therapeutic effect while reinforcing the effectiveness of the hair treatments. René Furterer's scalp massage can be done in the comfort of your home in just 3 easy steps.

Hands on demo during the workshop with Arisa as the guinea pig :D
Next comes the treatment process which consists of 4 steps.
Just as you thought shampooing and conditioning is sufficient

The first step is to prepare the scalp by performing the scalp massage mentioned above together with their product, the Complexe 5.

The Complexe 5 is a must have in René Furterer's scalp and hair care routine. It strengthens hair from the route while deeply cleanses the scalp and optimizing the effectiveness of René Furterer's treatments. The Complexe 5 is made out of 53% pure essential oils of Orange and Lavender  Just massage the oil on to dry scalp before shampooing.

Next comes shampooing depending on your hair condition. Will go more into that later.
Step 3: Conditioner/Mask
Lastly, the treatment~
Seems like quiet a handful doesn't it? My mind was already spinning with the amount of products they have @_@. After the workshop, we had a scalp analysis session where we have experts to scan our scalp and recommend the idea scalp and hair care routine for us :D (phew!).

Yay I had Damien to scan my scalp!!! *gets smacked*
First we had to answer a series of questions regarding our hair condition.
Then comes the moment of truth DUN DUN DUNNNNNN. Damien scanned my scalp and compared it to other pictures of scalp types.
My scalp and hair care routine :D
Thankfully my results show that I have a pretty healthy scalp but suffering from a period of hair loss. I'm guessing it's the sleeping late habit XD;; Damien recommended me a mixed ritual between the Carthame and Myrrhea range to provide sufficient moisture to my dry-ish hair and tame the hairs near my forehead~

René Furterer products are available at selected Sasa outlets or if you find the routine a bit too tedious for your time, you can always opt for a visit at their boutique located at Pavilion for a personalized consultation and treatment :D
