Li BingBing's Red Carpet Event @ Sunway Pyramid

After the press conference, Li BingBing had other interviews to attend but she's scheduled to appear at Sunway Pyramid at 7.30. Me and Arisa went to the entrance about 6pm to register ourselves :D

There's already a big crowd waiting for Li BingBing's arrival by 6 o_o
Crowd getting excited as they were giving out merchandise shirts. Too bad we media didn't get any ><
The stage for the night event
Gungho fans :D
Photogs were tweaking their settings from 6.45pm. Here's one of the crew posing for test shots. Ok? Oh yes definitely OK *continues drinking up the view* XD;;
As the night approaches, all the camera men were already on standby waiting. I was already drenched in sweat trying to fight my way between all the big and tall photogs @_@
Opening ceremony started with a group of zombies coming in the performing a dance at the stage area.
Followed by Li BingBing's arrival. Oh gosh I feel so lucky to snap a shot of her looking at me!! *w*b
Really good experience covering this event the last 2 days but I think it will be my first and last XD;;

Resident Evil: Retribution Press Conference @ Empire Hotel

Sorryyyyy T_T I was suppose to be blogging about this last week but I had to juggle a few things and I can't write posts bit by bit each day D: So anyways, I had the chance to cover the Resident Evil press conference and the red carpet event last week thanks to Arisa. I went there as a Media representative on behalf of Newskaki.com.

Friday morning, we had the Resident Evil Press Conference at Empire Hotel, Subang. Due to miscommunication, I was misinformed about the time =_=. I came on time but it sucked that I had to wolf down my breakfast and rush like a mad woman =w=;; Pictures in this post credits to Swing's camera, dammit I'll be super sad parting with it soon T___T

Empire's Ballroom
We were given a press kit along with a First Aid Kit with enough gauze to stuff up our nose incase we nose bleed from seeing Li BingBing. Nah just kidding XD
There was still a bit of time so me and Arisa started adjusting the settings on our cam to prepare for Li BingBing's arrival :D
Picture of the stage with the emcee for the day.
Li BingBing arrived shortly after that and oh gods all hell broke loose with the flashes coming from the army of photogs DX Me and Arisa are left hopeless with our baby kit lens lololol. Below are some of the decent shots saved by slowly counting the timing of the photog's shutters =/

Seated together with the emcee and translator
She spoke mandarin throughout the press conference so thank god for translators! \>A</ She talked about the difficulties during the filming. The film was filmed in Canada and at that point of time, she was filming for another movie in China. Though both parties made a compromise, it was still very tiring for her to travel between Canada and China every few months. She loved how there were many nationalities involved in the production of the film like Russians and Australians.

People also thought she couldn't speak a word of English so imagine their surprise when she spoke a little English XD;; It was a lot easier for her to communicate when she spoke English. She also picked up shooting due to the nature of her character and now she's loving it! So far she's quite satisfied with her role though she wished there were more fighting scenes.

Prior to the filming, she watched all the Resident Evil movies and compared it to the game to study the nature and role that Ada Wong has. She looked into Ada's movements, her body language, her speech hoping at the same time to understand what gamers are expecting.

One fun fact we found out is that she's Gucci's spokesperson :D so her wadrobe for this 2-day event is sponsored by Gucci~ Next post shall be on the red carpet event :3

WORKING!! On a Saturday

Finally we've finished the super long delayed shoot and it was all worth the wait! I've been planning for the WORKING!! shoot since May. We manage to recruit most of the members (even to the point of improvising which version to do), hijack a whole cafe to ourselves than to Arisa, gathered enough photogs and saikangs. So sad that this anime is very underrated, there's so much potential for shoots and competitions for this series =)

I took a different approach for this shoot. I recruited people who loved the series rather than giving a damn whether their physique can fit the character or not. Instead of planning on the storyboard, this series was more of a casual lifestyle approach so that's one less job for me. We had some hiccups involving Yamada but we still went on with our shoot. So... presenting all kuso photos below :D These are not official photos, it's just photos of our shoot progress~

WEVents 2nd Anniversary: Transformation

Last July I entered a contest organized by WEVents for a complete makeover session. Surprisingly I was one of the 10 shortlisted candidates \*w*/. Throughout the month of August, we were arranged to go through grooming and fitting sessions. We were sponsored facial products by Himalaya, a facial session from Mary Chia, fitting session at Parkson where all of us girls were squealing with glee picking clothes, shoes and accessories with our adviser Sam from Inspiring Individuals.

On the day of the event, we were presented to the public for voting to see who had the best transformation. Surprisingly I placed 3rd! \>w</ I honestly never expected to win, I just joined in hopes of picking up some grooming tips. Thanks a lot to WEVents for having this contest and the attendees who voted for me ;_;

All the women there were just gorgeous and I'm so glad to have met them! I got to meet Christy who just gave birth a few months ago but her body doesn't show one bit! Then there's Vanitha, so full of spunk and cracking jokes till my ribs ached XD;;. I met Camie as well surprisingly :D good to see a familiar face <3. And best of all Susee and Khairulbariah who took 1st and 2nd place in the contest :D I tell you those 2 ladies are just so hyper, they make me feel old lolol. Goes to say women age like fine wine I guess XD

Prizes :D
Heeheeee thanks to the sponsors for WEVents 2nd Anniversaty for the prizes *w*
RM500 Stage hamper
Haircut from A Cut Above (just in time too since I was complaining how cosplay is making me too poor to get a haircut lol)
RM100 Parkson gift card (Awesome! Now can buy sports bra! 8D)

Next few entries will elaborate more on the sessions we had with Himalaya, Mary Chia and Parkson :D Till then! *poofs in a cloud of smoke*

Not That The Person In-Charge Would Care

Just came back from Anicom. Others were torn between STGCC, AFAID, TAF and Anicom while I only had to decide between TAF and Anicom. Nothing hard really since Anicom is nearer towards my home so I got Jared to go replace me as the judge for TAF (I was someone else's replacement lol). I've heard Jared's rants on TAF but I needed some place to rant because I'm very unhappy on Anicom.

In all my years attending ACG events, I've never seen such an unbalanced team of judges. Not only the judges are new, they lack experience and perspective on things which I think are very vital in judging. At first when I saw the judging panel being announced during the prelims, it occurred to me that all 3 of the judges had no proper stage experience but I just brushed it aside thinking 'oh well maybe the organizer sees something in them'

Dear god how wrong I was.... *facepalms* Thank the bloody gods I didn't join the friggin comp. It'll be a fucking insult to be judged.... Judges (not to be named) gave VERY personal comments. You're a judge, not some fucking VIP, please judge FAIRLY according to the Rules & Regulations and not tell the contestants on YOUR preference.

From what I see, the judges also are not very broad-minded, can't really understand a lot of concepts. They didn't understand the different interpretations of themes. It becomes such a huge weakness for the cosplayers in bringing out their character according to their strengths. Gods I'm just so angry I can hardly form my words!!! I think I'll just stop here....

*huffs, takes a deep breath and snuggles under the covers*

Of Throwing Tantrums and a Little Splurging

Don't you just hate it when everything starts falling apart before an important appointment? =/ For me, my face gives me problems before the important day.... I'm missing Taylors Asaban Fest to nurse my pimples.  Started growing into a cyst during AniManGaki and I've been scrubbing it vigorously over the last 2 days just to break the skin layer so that the pus and blood can come out. Sounds gross but drying out won't work since the pimple is full of blood and I have a VERY important photoshoot next weekend DX.

Then my last visit to my usual Beauty Salon was another nightmare. The beautician was a noob and didn't thread my eyebrows well... it's only been a week but the hairs have already started growing =_= so I have to visit another Salon to get it threaded for my interview on Monday..... I got my underarms waxed as well at my usual salon and to my horror, they changed the wax and did not inform me of the price change! The waxing price increased by almost DOUBLE! I don't think I'll be going back there anymore *sigh* Even the waxing work was shoddy... a bit hard to explain but to put it short, there were still dried bits of wax after my treatment =_=. I was very angry especially since I've been going to this salon since my college days.... but I was in a rush so couldn't throw a tantrum zzzzz.

Anyways..... remember the Guardian voucher I got back in July? Well here's the goodies I bought with it :D

All groceries/necessities :D Got the Watermelon Frost to treat my ulcers on my gums, acne patches hopefully it can help me continue draining the pus out as I sleep, shampoo since I'm almost fresh out. Been wanting to try Schwarzkopf's lower end range that Guardian brings in but only certain Guardian stocks it. This one has been repackaged I think as the previous designs were in red, pink or yellow depending on the hair type.

A little sneak peak of what I got in the mail on Friday. This is the holy grail of Cosplay foundation :D. I bought the China made ones from the Beauty Expo few years ago but now I thought of giving a try to the original? XD

Part Timing & Animangaki 2012

*crawls back from the dead*

Hope everyone is doing fine after such a long holiday~ I'm still in such a holiday mood >< Last week working for 3 days, this week only working for two since I took 2 days leave to settle stuff heehee XD. Anyways, I got myself a part time job during the Animangaki week. Wish I didn't have to take part time but I feel so broke ever since I have to start paying my PTPTN loan :(.

On Saturday morning, woke up at 8am and head to Animangaki and sold tickets at CF's booth till 1pm. Turns out I mistaken the time my part time started, thought it was 2pm but SMS said 1pm so I rushed to Sunway Resort. Thank gods my part time venue and Animangaki are so close ><

The part time job involved handling the registration counter for a company's annual dinner but before that we had to help set up the counters and prepare the goodie bags. Most of the attendees were directors and managers of large companies and they're horrible when they're drunk! :< but I'll spare you readers from the ranting and show you my favorite part of the job.
BEST. TOILET. EVER!
This is like the best toilet I've ever seen!!!! There's even a couch for you to sleep lolol. I kept spazzing over the toilet, you must think I'm weird now T_T

Sunday I was at Animangaki the whole day *w*. Half the time I was walking around since I didn't get to explore the event. So happy meeting everyone that I haven't seen for a while but regret not cosplaying, feel so lonely T3T> Anyways here's some pictures of CF at the event :D
CF Booth at Animangaki
Last minute decision to have Khi Jon and Vincent to wear those aprons and hold them hand puppets but the moment they put them on, CF appeal +100! Immediately, photogs came and took pictures of them haha! XD Some even dropped by just to ask whether those puppets are on sale XD;;
How to resist?!?!?! <3
Photo with Shio, Yoke Lai and Kidchan
Pervy emcees peeking into the maid cafe
mmmmm all CF men look so uke when they have those aprons on~
Even pedobear dropped by our booth~
This coming weekend is Taylors Asaban Fest and also Anicom finals. I'll be heading to TAF on Saturday and Anicom on Sunday. Still thinking whether wanna cosplay or not but I'll seeya guys there >w</
