Review: SkinFood Black Sugar Mask Wash Off

I finally got my hands on this holy grail item since Jon went to Korea. It's priced at RM59.90 here which is a big wound for me to spend on a mask that small >_<;; but it costs like half the price in Korea. Sense, it makes none! =(

SkinFood Black Sugar Mask Wash Off contains black sugar ingredient, which contains rich minerals, vitamins and glycolic acid, for removing aged cuticles.  It ensures better absorption of the following skin care products. Skin is revitalized and hydrated. Bright and tight skin is resulted. A leave-on mask with generous moisturizing and effective exfoliating ingredients. Grainy sugar granules slough off excess oil and grime, while a self-heating formula opens up pores, allowing skin to fully absorb the rich minerals and vitamins

When I first used it, I'm sad to say that I was one of the few (or many?) that got conned by the mask word! I opened the tub and was surprised to find the 'mask' pretty hard so I scrapped out some and scrubbed it on my dry face!!! Oh boy, sand paper could compete with that thing! Lesson learnt, read the directions behind! XD;;
Bunch of hard gook
Directions: After cleansing, apply the mask to lightly wet face (avoid eye and lip area). Gently press and massage. Leave it for 10-15 minutes and then rinse well with water.

I tried again the second time and it was muchhhhh betterrrrrr. At the beginning, the scrub feels really rough on the face so do massage it VERY gently for those with sensitive skin. As I massaged my face, I could feel the granules slowly melting so I massaged till all the sugar melted then washed it off.

My skin felt really nice and clean =D and I love the scent of the black sugar. Overall I'd say it's a pretty decent scrub but not with the price tag that comes along with it. Then again, I can't say it's expensive since I bought Laneige's Peeling Gel *gets smacked* Honestly, if you ask me to compare between the two, I'd still use both but I'll just use the peeling gel more often since the sugar scrub is quite harsh for me.

  2. Onini>> I got too many scrubs at home to experiment with Lush XD;; How's the shelf life for Lush products? I heard it doesn't last very long since made from natural ingredients.
