A Month of Accomplishment :D

Month of May has been quite a productive month both in my personal life and at work. It has been a stressful week at work and at the same time I've complete 2 very delayed shoots that took me 5-6 months of shoot prep due to unforeseen circumstances.

This was one of the recent shoots done last week. Debuted the costume during Comic Fiesta 2012 but had so much problem setting a time and date to shoot since everyone had different schedules. It was one of my most satisfying shoots as there's quite a lot of shots that can be used and also plenty of omake shots :D Will be doing an in-progress post about it soon :D

New Prince of Tennis
Organizing a team of 20 people is a pain but worth it orz. This was one of the longest shoot I had. We started in the morning 7am at Cyberjaya for the first shoot then moved to Selayang for the evening shoot. The weather was horrible so sad to say we didn't have much shots that can be used :( nevertheless I had a really fun time with the geng as we tried out some new ideas.

Before The End

*squints hard* Omigosh been more than a month since I last blogged!! I'm so sorry T_T as I was caught up in a lot of things, it was pretty hard to edit my photos T3T. Well here's a summary of what's been happening for the last 1 month.

New Workplace
Yeap, changed to a new job after almost 3 years. Pure luck that my resume went around and got a spot at the company. Some people were surprised, some asked me if I've died yet and some were gushing how good it was. Believe me, it isn't. The circumstances aren't as good as what I hoped but if I make it through, it'll make a good addition to my resume :).

Some small perks I enjoy is the free breakfast and being able to travel by LRT. These 2 help me save A LOT. Bad side is, there's no Chinese mixed rice nearby the area so I normally eat VERY little for lunch. I'm still trying to adjust at my workplace, finding myself extremely lethargic after work (despite coming home earlier) and the amount of acne/bumps sprouted ever since I started work isn't funny.

So here's to hoping a year of survival for 2013 *clinks glass with monitor*

Comic Fiesta 2012!!
The long awaited end year event has finally come and go!!! Entering a new workplace and with CF around the corner was the worst time for me. I spent the week before CF sleeping at 3am, waking up at 7am. Come back by 8pm to do house chores then continue working on costumes till the wee hours of the morning. Repeat process x7. Thankfully I didn't plan on having any elaborate costumes for the year or else I'd be dead.

Had so much headache trying to find the right fabric color for her costume and also her wig color!!! Omg damn difficult to find the most accurate wig color! This was the best color I could find that would appeal in photographs >w<. Costume done by Ms Tan's Tailoring.

The iris flowers were another nightmare. I found out no one supplies fake iris flowers in KL so I had to specially order from Taobao. 3 miserable pieces for RM50 >_< Belt was also done last minute due to a miscalculation but glad it turned out well :D

Firstly... I'm sorry I got the hand sign wrong T___T forgive me!!! *bows* I'm just a small boy~~~ Finally able to cosplay this series!!! One of the first anime I watched on AXN together with Saiyuki :D I love love love love Mao but due to lack of resources (picture refs & budget), I had this costume on hold for a VERY long time. I ended up buying 2 types of blue wigs because I can't make up my mind which wig looks better in photos lolol. Thanks to Jared for helping with the Super Chef logo ^w^V. Costume done by Yori Tailoring Services which turned out to be a CF member I knew back in 2009 haha.

Oh fortunately I also manage to find the black 'capalang' wok at Jusco! Perfect for Mao's era XD;;; The only problem is that it was too bulky to be carried around the hall filled with thousands of people during event day @_@. Oh well~ there's always photoshoot~

Cosplaying Mao forced me to dabble with some prop making. I had to make a cleaver since a real one could make children cry 8D. I still hate prop-making because of the mess it makes. I've scratched the family marble table and also accidentally sprayed over condo property *shhhh*.

This year, Comic Fiesta invited Bless4 to the event! <3 There was a night concert during Day 1 and everyone who attended got the chance to High 5 all the Bless4 members! :D

Cosplay Ball

Last event of the year~ Decided to go to see what's all the fuss about :D I'd say it's so-so. If you don't but the early bird price, you'd be crying at what you get haha. Thank god I have old CF member peeps like Hito, RRJ and Silvy or else I'd feel super lonely >_<

I'm off to a NYE parteh right after work so thought I better churn out this post ASAP before the year ends~ There's still pictures of the gifts and souvenirs that I received during the last 2 weeks but no time to extract from camera @_@. WORKING!! On a Saturday

Finally we've finished the super long delayed shoot and it was all worth the wait! I've been planning for the WORKING!! shoot since May. We manage to recruit most of the members (even to the point of improvising which version to do), hijack a whole cafe to ourselves than to Arisa, gathered enough photogs and saikangs. So sad that this anime is very underrated, there's so much potential for shoots and competitions for this series =)

I took a different approach for this shoot. I recruited people who loved the series rather than giving a damn whether their physique can fit the character or not. Instead of planning on the storyboard, this series was more of a casual lifestyle approach so that's one less job for me. We had some hiccups involving Yamada but we still went on with our shoot. So... presenting all kuso photos below :D These are not official photos, it's just photos of our shoot progress~

Singing Our Spirit Out

Well... wanted to write up about the Young Hearts Workshop but I have last minute stuff arranged next morning so here's a quick update about last weekend :D. Silvy's been poisoning her wall with DIB posts and I'm finally hooked! Went to visit the place last weekend as DIB started a Customers Sing Along night every Saturday. The cafe has a very unique concept which I'll explain in another post cuz I don't have sufficient pictures T3T.

I was panicking the whole week since we were suppose to bring our own song sheets and chords. I was so worried since I couldn't estimate what kind of crown would be there and what kind of songs they will enjoy @_@ Heck could be Eagles or Westlife or maybe.... BIEBER! Thank god DIB's owner, Mr Allan Teh prepared some songs and chords for us!!!

This year I've been buying a couple of Japanese books T3T. After I bought the Saiyuki Character Book Sanzo x Goku, I dropped by again to get Shinpuri's Official Anime Visual Book. ahh my wallet it criesssss.

Feels worth it though since it's 80 pages of full color. There's illustrations and also player list in the U-17 camp X3. Next book I'm looking forward to get is Saiyuki's Salty Dog VII. So sad the cover is Gojyo and Goku..... but I'm looking forward to the contents heehehehe saw some pretty nice illustrations of Sanzo <3. Can I like hope for it to be a birthday present? lolol *kena piak*

Animangaki feels like it's around the corner and I still have a few things to do so dumping my to-do-list for the week here

June Cosplay Woes & Buys

Ahh *stretches* now with the launch at work over, I can focus a bit on cosplay. I'm having my Tenipuri Shoot this weekend so prepping my face and packing stuffs to make sure I don't forget anything :D. PS: did anyone get the problem of Blogger swallowing up the reading list? Mine was blank the last 2 days which got me panicking since I stalk a lot of blogshops and friend's blogs OwO;;

Back to entry.... I bought a new racquet with my Hari Belia winnings while the rest is chucked into savings :3. Initially I was set on the Dunlop Biomimetic 600 Lite based on my research last year but the dealer recommended the 700 as it's the latest model.

The racquet was RM200 more compared to the 600 Lite but it had a promo and some freebies. The racquet was an upgrade from the 600 Lite so I figured I'd just get it. Not to mention that the 700 is 20+ grams lighter than the 600 Lite.

Took it for stringing on Monday and I just collected it this afternoon :D

Most expensive prop ever! This is gonna be Yamato's racquet XD;; Quite happy with my purchase except the dealer is so pushy zzzz so not gonna recommend it to people D: All I need to do now is pamper my face for the rest of the week and give my wig a little trim~

Next is the Working! shoot which is tentatively after Raya ;_; but we have yet to find a location so last week I had a recce with some of the members over breakfast.

Cosplay book ordered from China, Maru book that Audrey helped me buy from Japan.... it was priced at RM74 in Kino FML. Saiyuki Character Book: Sanzo & Goku ordered from Kino :3. All books that I can never understand :D but I can always admire the pretty pictures instead lolol.

Collected my Moekana cards from Swing <3

Oh I'm not a fan of Danny Choo's stuff really but I respect him as an entrepreneur. These are Hiragana flash cards and I find the price quite affordable. Between this and the boring flash cards available at bookstores, might as well get this instead XD;; Now to wait and see if there's a Katakana version coming out :D

Corzplay Weekend

Late post is late =/ I wanted to post last week but I'm not getting any photos so you'll have to bear with ugly low quality photos~

Last Sunday I took a short trip to KLIA with Audrey and Shun for Junjou Terrorist shoot. There's a small scene in the manga that took place in the airport so I was hoping to shoot that part. The shoot was small and fun. We jakun a lot and I think people thought we were like little kids riding the travelator so many times XD;; 

Given a choice, I would really like to capture a scene of both characters with the background of the plane taking off *gets slapped* I was mostly the problem OwO having proximity issues and lack of expression OTL but I hope the photos turn out well..... or else there's always a retake =P

Sunday I went to gamefest which was held in MMU, Cyberjaya. Went to judge the cosplay competition so I decided to not give a fuck about accuracy and cosplayed Yamato Yudai from Prince of Tennis. I honestly look too small for him TwT but I love his character so much <3 and I could recycle Ryoma wig wahahahahaha~

Did a small (ok not really small) photoshoot with a few photographers OTL honestly I only wanted one photo of my Yamato XD;; but thanks for those who spared me their previous time T3T I look forward to the photos~~~

Melaka Trip Loot

April is a month I'm planning to suppress my shopping urges (yea right). Didn't help that I've been feeling depressed for the past few months AND was in Melaka during the weekend =P. Surprisingly I didn't buy much food but I got some of my cosplay stuffs and exchanged a lot of things during the event.

Finally bought Shiomaru's album =D. Couldn't buy it during CF cuz Shimokawa Mikuni took my money, I'm sorry!!! TAT I got my hipster glasses for Popura, laser light to play with cats and chopsticks with my surname from Jonker Street. Gwen came up for the event as well so got my Dior and also a box of Godiva's along with a tulip scarf as souvenirs~ Thank you Gwen!!!! <3 

Had a chance to cosplay for the first time of the year too :3 so brought my name cards down and exchanged it with a few photogs and cosplayers~~ So glad to meet you all and please add add add meeeeee *o*/

My face can't handle heavy makeup DX, it'll make me look more like a hag orz. Definitely gonna retire this wig >_< I suit Popura better orz. Looking to invest in Dolly Winks for Popura if I successfully pass my no-shopping ban this month hehe~~~

So We Went To This Scandalous Event

So last week I went to my first ACG event (I guess it could be classified as that? lol) of the year. Decided to do something simple to move around easily. I ghetto cosplayed Shinobu from Junjou Romantica so that I can get the chance to test the eyebrow wax I got from a friend last year.

Pretty boy? 8D *gets whacked*

Oh the wax was a bitch to use orz and I need more bloody practice =( especially on drawing the eyebrows part ugh! 

So back to the event.... this event was honestly very badly promoted.... almost as bad as AFKL with all the anal and self contradicting nitty grits. The fee was ridiculously high and doesn't justify the amount of activities lined up for the event. The location was ridiculously far, about 40-50km from KL =A=. By now you'd probably be wondering why did I bother to haul my ass to the event when it already sounds so bad. Well.... I was just curious since this event had a certain theme to it. 

Event was quite small, about 120ppl max that attended? I'm not sure. We went 2 rounds around the area and then started rotting from boredom XD;;

Good thing was, it was easier for me to catch up with friends this event was small. There were shota butlers bringing food into the hall to sell. The food was also not bad and reasonably priced which was a plus for me. I didn't get to eat the food cuz they were sold out by the time I was hungry T_T such a pity.... They had sandwiches, cupcakes and ONIGIRIIIII >(

Those who were bored and had nothing to do brought and shared scandalous material =D I hope those pages aren't where the excitement starts XD;;;

By the time we reached home, we were so dead tired. Boredom really saps a lot of energy.... =3= Now working towards the photoshoot in which I need to get rid of my proximity issues asap OAO

7 Day Countdown!

It's a week before RAGE and I have so many things to do! In both office and home. I'm choked up to my neck that I bring my work home >_< so will have to juggle office work and my personal stuffs this week ;_;. Workplace is a landmine for the next few weeks, any wrong move and KABOOM! I'm praying nothing goes wrong this week ><

As for RAGE, settled accommodation and transport months ago when it was announced =D. For cosplay plans... I'm cosplaying from the series Working! for both days. Can't be bothered to make some complicated-epic-and-can't-move costume.

Day 1
Plan A FAILED.

Executing plan B. Meeting the seller to collect my costume tomorrow hehe. Wig is a last minute order, hope it arrives by Friday haha or else I'm cosplaying myself for Day 1 lol.

Day 2
Collecting costume on Friday. Need to give the wig a cut, hopefully on Tuesday. Need to find cute hairpins too OAO which I hope to accomplish on Friday and double check whether I have knee length socks. Last minute visit to the print shop to see how fast would it take to make a hardcover book >_<.

PS: Oh my bad, it's a 6 day countdown? =P

Pik Pok

Every weekend (well the past 2 weekends so far lol) has been dedicated to tennis practice since the shoot is 2 weeks away *_*. Gosh I still don't feel ready. I still have my wristband to paint and Ponta can to think over. Last week's game was terrible since it's just me and Terence so we had to play singles and boy we sucked! None of us have the reflexes to play singles. Terence kept throwing cross shots and I spent most of the time sprinting and chasing after balls ;_; and my ankle has yet to heal which makes things tougher. The game ended up not being very enjoyable for the both of us. *sigh* Anyway have a shot of the game 2 weeks ago.

I feel like I'm doing some dance over here lol

Finally got a new camera too during the weekend. No more yellow pictures and dark photos yay! *o*. After poking people for opinions and scouting around, I settled for a Panasonic Lumix LX5. Got it really cheap during the Lelong fair and it came with a cleaning kit which other sellers don't offer *w*. I'll be collecting my leather case this Thursday =). First thing I did was to take some night shots outside my house XD so will probably upload it on FB :3

Finally I had a bite of Humble Beginnings Mille Crepe!

After so long, I finally decided to just buy a whole Mille Crepe from Humble Beginnings. Bought it as a small celebration for the piece of good news at work~ =D I selected the French Vanilla added on with Fresh Strawberries. The cake is a lot more creamier and I'm surprised my boss liked it o_O. I like that the cake isn't too sweet but I still prefer my cake to be a little more solid. There's 2 more slices sitting in my fridge. Breakfast for the next 2 days? =P

Oh and this post shall be the last tribute to my old camera 8D. Next post onwards shall be taking pics with my new camera wohoo~

Pump It Up!

I feel lazyyyyyy. There's nothing but tennis and POT swimming in my head since I've yet to develop the storyboard for the upcoming shoot. We had a trial run last week and we ended up playing for 3 hours! Not bad really. I'm very surprised with my stamina and heck I could still go on! *_*b We improved much more compared to when we were at school XD;; The balls don't fly out of the gate anymore, our rackets didn't collide, my upper hand serve enters the service box finally! *_* About 3 weeks left till the actual shoot. Sent my wig for styling, can't wait for the outcome! =D I'm still feeling so 'gung ho' from the session.

Gym has been good too. I did my measurements last week and found out I gained a bit of weight and I gained a hell lot of muscle too and only at 3 weeks of progress =D I suspect it might get a little slower from here on hehe.

This week will be any bust week for me. I'm so tempted to put blogging on a hiatus *gets kicked*. I have a presentation due next week and it's about a bloody thick brochure to present so I have to practice from tomorrow onwards. On top of fulfilling the visits to gym 3 times a week, I have to run to Bangdar this Thursday to check out the new stock of Yonex bags. I just hope it's either the Tourny Basic series, the Pro series in blue or black or else I'm screwed >_<.

Of Hangouts and Tennis

Mmmmmm yesterday I had a strong craving for Nasi Lemak so I dragged Johnny to the Bumbung Nasi Lemak store at SeaPark before our spontaneous trip to watch Green Lantern.

They shifted the tables from the parking lots to in between the shop lots. Feels like eating illegally XD;; I was tensed most of the time watching out for cockroaches ._. The incident in the lift last week really spooked me. For those who didn't know, I was with a friend in the lift when she spotted a cockroach. It was too late to get out so on impulse I screamed loudly >_>;; I'm horribly terrified of cockroaches. They're unpredictable with their movements and they always seem to approach you! 

Anyways, next day I spent the day with Jared :3 We haven't had a proper date in 3 weeks thanks to CF *glares at Nerv* Had vegetarian at Annalakshimi before heading to the sports store to get my tennis racket and his grip tape replaced.

My new tennis racket =)

My new tennis racket is a Wilson N6 Hybrid. According to the person, it's most suited for beginners. The head is slightly larger than my previous racket and a hell lot lighter! Will be testing this baby out soon *w* I'm quite happy with this shop and the stuff is priced much cheaper *w*.

Balls and more balls~

Got the balls that the POT manga uses in their matches ufufufuf so bought it to be used as photoshoot prop~ and also for practice sessions XD. The red ball over there is a coaching ball that is softer and slightly bigger than a tennis ball. Because of the size and softness, it has a lower bounce and the ball will travel much slower which gives me more time to improve and adjust my strokes. Hope this would help me with training =D
