June Cosplay Woes & Buys

Ahh *stretches* now with the launch at work over, I can focus a bit on cosplay. I'm having my Tenipuri Shoot this weekend so prepping my face and packing stuffs to make sure I don't forget anything :D. PS: did anyone get the problem of Blogger swallowing up the reading list? Mine was blank the last 2 days which got me panicking since I stalk a lot of blogshops and friend's blogs OwO;;

Back to entry.... I bought a new racquet with my Hari Belia winnings while the rest is chucked into savings :3. Initially I was set on the Dunlop Biomimetic 600 Lite based on my research last year but the dealer recommended the 700 as it's the latest model.

The racquet was RM200 more compared to the 600 Lite but it had a promo and some freebies. The racquet was an upgrade from the 600 Lite so I figured I'd just get it. Not to mention that the 700 is 20+ grams lighter than the 600 Lite.

Took it for stringing on Monday and I just collected it this afternoon :D

Most expensive prop ever! This is gonna be Yamato's racquet XD;; Quite happy with my purchase except the dealer is so pushy zzzz so not gonna recommend it to people D: All I need to do now is pamper my face for the rest of the week and give my wig a little trim~

Next is the Working! shoot which is tentatively after Raya ;_; but we have yet to find a location so last week I had a recce with some of the members over breakfast.

Cosplay book ordered from China, Maru book that Audrey helped me buy from Japan.... it was priced at RM74 in Kino FML. Saiyuki Character Book: Sanzo & Goku ordered from Kino :3. All books that I can never understand :D but I can always admire the pretty pictures instead lolol.

Collected my Moekana cards from Swing <3

Oh I'm not a fan of Danny Choo's stuff really but I respect him as an entrepreneur. These are Hiragana flash cards and I find the price quite affordable. Between this and the boring flash cards available at bookstores, might as well get this instead XD;; Now to wait and see if there's a Katakana version coming out :D

Holiday~~~

The only thing I like about living in Malaysia? The gazillion holidays we get for the ever stupid reasons XD Today was a holiday for me *w* but some of my friends were unfortunate to have to go to work today haha. Still, I still didn't ditch my routine. Woke up at 8.45 and went to gym for my dose of workouts then flew to Bangi to collect my tennis bag.

I've been scouting for this bag at almost all the tennis shops. Well not really all, I targeted the ones that are highly recommended by the tennis community since I can bargain with these shops and they're quite reasonably priced. I wanted this bag for my cosplay project and also as an upgrade since my old bag is too small. I bought the Yonex Tournament Series 2010 for RM96 after discount which was a good bargain =D

6 racket compartment

Even though I only have 2 rackets, the other compartment is for me to store tennis balls, towel and water. There's still space for my shoes and valuables too! :3 So I can pretty much bring only this bag to the court.

Came back around 2pm and made some calls to see which commissioner of oath is available to sign my loan forms. It was cheaper than I expected but now I discovered that my documents have to be signed too =_=;; so I'll probably have to take leave to settle it then immediately submit them *sigh*. 

Oh! and last night me and Johnny were treated buka puasa and premiere tickets to a movie!

Yes I'm a Gleek!

But first, we gotta fill our stomachs!

The makan was buffet style filled with a mixture of Malay/Chinese/Western dishes. Nothing much to rave about there but I particularly like one of the desserts.

Sago and gula melaka

The dessert was nice and sweet but I find the sago too sticky so the gula melaka doesn't coat nicely around the sago when I cut the sago. The movie started at 9pm mostly snippets of the tour concert, fan testimonials and behind the scenes with the cast. I'm a bit sad that they didn't play some of the really good songs >< and Sue Sylvester didn't make an appearance!!! Probably she thought that the movie sucks so bad that she didn't wanna play a part of it XD. I really enjoyed the fan testimonials, only thing I hope is that it's not fake XD;;

Pik Pok

Every weekend (well the past 2 weekends so far lol) has been dedicated to tennis practice since the shoot is 2 weeks away *_*. Gosh I still don't feel ready. I still have my wristband to paint and Ponta can to think over. Last week's game was terrible since it's just me and Terence so we had to play singles and boy we sucked! None of us have the reflexes to play singles. Terence kept throwing cross shots and I spent most of the time sprinting and chasing after balls ;_; and my ankle has yet to heal which makes things tougher. The game ended up not being very enjoyable for the both of us. *sigh* Anyway have a shot of the game 2 weeks ago.

I feel like I'm doing some dance over here lol

Finally got a new camera too during the weekend. No more yellow pictures and dark photos yay! *o*. After poking people for opinions and scouting around, I settled for a Panasonic Lumix LX5. Got it really cheap during the Lelong fair and it came with a cleaning kit which other sellers don't offer *w*. I'll be collecting my leather case this Thursday =). First thing I did was to take some night shots outside my house XD so will probably upload it on FB :3

Finally I had a bite of Humble Beginnings Mille Crepe!

After so long, I finally decided to just buy a whole Mille Crepe from Humble Beginnings. Bought it as a small celebration for the piece of good news at work~ =D I selected the French Vanilla added on with Fresh Strawberries. The cake is a lot more creamier and I'm surprised my boss liked it o_O. I like that the cake isn't too sweet but I still prefer my cake to be a little more solid. There's 2 more slices sitting in my fridge. Breakfast for the next 2 days? =P

Oh and this post shall be the last tribute to my old camera 8D. Next post onwards shall be taking pics with my new camera wohoo~

Of Hangouts and Tennis

Mmmmmm yesterday I had a strong craving for Nasi Lemak so I dragged Johnny to the Bumbung Nasi Lemak store at SeaPark before our spontaneous trip to watch Green Lantern.

They shifted the tables from the parking lots to in between the shop lots. Feels like eating illegally XD;; I was tensed most of the time watching out for cockroaches ._. The incident in the lift last week really spooked me. For those who didn't know, I was with a friend in the lift when she spotted a cockroach. It was too late to get out so on impulse I screamed loudly >_>;; I'm horribly terrified of cockroaches. They're unpredictable with their movements and they always seem to approach you! 

Anyways, next day I spent the day with Jared :3 We haven't had a proper date in 3 weeks thanks to CF *glares at Nerv* Had vegetarian at Annalakshimi before heading to the sports store to get my tennis racket and his grip tape replaced.

My new tennis racket =)

My new tennis racket is a Wilson N6 Hybrid. According to the person, it's most suited for beginners. The head is slightly larger than my previous racket and a hell lot lighter! Will be testing this baby out soon *w* I'm quite happy with this shop and the stuff is priced much cheaper *w*.

Balls and more balls~

Got the balls that the POT manga uses in their matches ufufufuf so bought it to be used as photoshoot prop~ and also for practice sessions XD. The red ball over there is a coaching ball that is softer and slightly bigger than a tennis ball. Because of the size and softness, it has a lower bounce and the ball will travel much slower which gives me more time to improve and adjust my strokes. Hope this would help me with training =D

A Day of Non-Stop Eating T_T

Wohoo I still went out even though I came back at 2.30am in the morning on Wednesday night. It's not gonna stop me from going out on a public holiday. I'll have lots of time to sleep during the CNY holidays since I'm not going to Ipoh =P. Woke up at 10am all by myself @A@, my body is probably used to the 5-6 hours of sleep I get everyday so it woke up by itself T_T so I forced myself to sleep all the way to 12. SMS-ed Ezel and fell asleep again waiting for his reply lol!

Finally dragged myself out of the house at 2.30 to meet up with the guys for yamcha at Murni USJ. I swear the whole day my money just flew to eating ;_; We adjourned to Whisk at Subang Empire for some cake but the place is full =w=;; so we decided to try The Vanilla Place. Bad, bad bad decision ._. for me cuz my food sucked ._. not sure about the rest but here's some sneak peeks of some food we ordered.

The rest of the photos are just too yellow and too unappetizing for me to put up >_> Unlucky for me, my monthly relative decided to pay me a visit 5 days early from the expected date haih. I ordered a Beef Lasagna and an Ice Lemon Tea and both of them tasted terrible. The lasagna tasted weird and it was too hard at some sides, Ezel said it was overcooked and my Ice Lemon Tea had too little lemon =( it was like they hurriedly brewed some Boh teabags then dunked the slide of lemon in.

After paying for the nasty food, we went to Toys R Us cuz some of us were attracted to the bling store D8. There's a new Nerf gun out but I'm still happy with my Maverick =D Unless there's another intense war, I can't be bothered to get another Nerf gun.

I finally got my grip tape replaced too. I decided to try my luck at sports specialty shops instead of Jusco since the staff wanted to charge me extra to change my grip tape wtf o_o. I somehow suspect it's their way of making money since there's no official receipt issued if I pay them >_>.

Since I was at Sunway, I dropped by Studio R to check out the grip tapes. Boy they cost 3 times more than the ones sold at Jusco D8 but they look much better! The ones sold at Jusco were the normal grips while Studio R had a few types of grips depending on what you're expecting. I finally got the grip tape with texture since hoping it would help my small hands keep hold of the racket :3 My hands seem to always slip during practice so I can't hit the ball properly after some. Grip tape cost RM23.60 after discount T_T aih expensiveness but at least they helped me change the tape for free :3

The staff told me I should start using it everyday so that the grip won't spoil D8 Well at least I'm forced to play then XD;; Time for me to start getting a pair of shoes next month :3 Both my wallet and heart hurts today cuz of all the sucky food I paid for =( except for the wondeful Inari and Edamame I ate at Sushi Zanmai for dinner.
