Scalp & Hair Beauty Workshop by René Furterer

A woman's hair is her crowning glory. We pay a lot of attention to our hair because everyone else will. It's one of the first things people notice at a first glance. Thanks to all the social pressure, we women spend a lot of time to make sure we tame that insane mane of ours before we step out of the house. It's frikkin serious business and René Furterer knows it!

Last week I received an invite from Tammy to attend René Furterer's Scalp and Hair Beauty Workshop organized by OnlyBeauty. Was quite keen to attend since I've been wanting to get my scalp analyzed :D Last time I went for a scalp analysis at Himalaya but unfortunately I applied some essential oils so they couldn't tell me the status of my scalp T_T. This time I made sure I leave the house with my unruly hair..... *wears paper bag on head*

"Beautiful hair grows from a healthy scalp like a plant in fertile soil" -René Furterer 1957

Of course, to have beautiful hair, one will have to know how to take care of their scalp. For over 50 years, René Furterer designed treatment products that treat both scalp and hair. Their treatment products are based on plat extracts and essential oils, well known for their therapeutic properties. These ingredients naturally provide hair with the elements to improve its health and beauty. The following pictures are a mixture of mine and some stolen from Arisa because I'm a bad photographer =(

Speaker for the day: Mr Damien, PFDC Asia Pacific Trainer
Damien introduced René Furterer's hair care range which consist of 18 types of treatments stretching to over 50 products as each treatment has their own type of shampoo, conditioner, sprays and etc. Instead, I'll spare you the long post and direct you to their product ranger here: René Furterer Product Range. As you can see they have treatments catered to almost any type of hair condition. Products can be mixed depending on hair condition as well.

René Furterer also created a scalp and hair care method that is recommended to optimize the growth of strong, healthy and beautiful hair.

The first step starts with a scalp massage. Massages have a therapeutic effect while reinforcing the effectiveness of the hair treatments. René Furterer's scalp massage can be done in the comfort of your home in just 3 easy steps.

Hands on demo during the workshop with Arisa as the guinea pig :D
Next comes the treatment process which consists of 4 steps.
Just as you thought shampooing and conditioning is sufficient

The first step is to prepare the scalp by performing the scalp massage mentioned above together with their product, the Complexe 5.

The Complexe 5 is a must have in René Furterer's scalp and hair care routine. It strengthens hair from the route while deeply cleanses the scalp and optimizing the effectiveness of René Furterer's treatments. The Complexe 5 is made out of 53% pure essential oils of Orange and Lavender  Just massage the oil on to dry scalp before shampooing.

Next comes shampooing depending on your hair condition. Will go more into that later.
Step 3: Conditioner/Mask
Lastly, the treatment~
Seems like quiet a handful doesn't it? My mind was already spinning with the amount of products they have @_@. After the workshop, we had a scalp analysis session where we have experts to scan our scalp and recommend the idea scalp and hair care routine for us :D (phew!).

Yay I had Damien to scan my scalp!!! *gets smacked*
First we had to answer a series of questions regarding our hair condition.
Then comes the moment of truth DUN DUN DUNNNNNN. Damien scanned my scalp and compared it to other pictures of scalp types.
My scalp and hair care routine :D
Thankfully my results show that I have a pretty healthy scalp but suffering from a period of hair loss. I'm guessing it's the sleeping late habit XD;; Damien recommended me a mixed ritual between the Carthame and Myrrhea range to provide sufficient moisture to my dry-ish hair and tame the hairs near my forehead~

Guerlain Beauty Workshop @ Chinoz KLCC

A brand that most makeup addicts would be familiar with :D Guerlain is one of the oldest French perfume houses and has upheld the reputation of superior quality and excellence for over 180 years. Guerlain's rich history includes being one of the first makers of eyeliner, mascara, lipstick and bronzer powder along with creating over 700 fragrances. I first knew about Guerlain when the meteorites were hit on the local beauty forums. At that time, I couldn't afford such a luxurious product... just look at the packaging, they look so sleek and made to fit a queen! ;w;

Then Tammy linked me to HELLO! magazine as they're opening RSVP's for a beauty experience with Guerlain :D and I was lucky enough to score an invite!
Required us to state our profession, I guess they filter the potential customers. Perks of being a working adult ^_^V

I took the morning session but left the house a bit late :D;; Most of the peeps were already there and prepping up. Each table was assigned one assistant from Guerlain and they helped us remove our makeup and applied moisturiser. Our table had Sue as our assistant :3
Skin care products used before proceeding to the makeup session
A close up~
My table only had 2-3 girls so it was quite comfy and we get to have extra attention from Sue~~ mwhahaha. All Guerlain's products smell of rose water :D and it felt so good when Sue massaged the Intense Hydration Wrinkle Plumper onto my skin!
All the makeup for us to play on that day!!! Those Meteorites!!!!
Shades of foundations and brushes for us to play :D Also the lipsticks there are  one of the new products for the Fall 2012 collection.
Everyone listening attentively
We were first shown how to apply the primer, foundation then using the meteorites as a loose powder. Sue was going around the table assisting us in picking the right shade for our skin :D but we have to apply everything by ourselves. To my surprise, among all the beauty brands I've used, Guerlain is one product that is frikkin easy to use!!! Either that, or my face just welcomes Guerlain ever so willingly. I've been experimenting makeup since 2005 and only recently I found that Lancome agrees with my skin. Other than that, every other brand just cakes up or my skin just throws a riot by turning into an oil factory.
Meteorites Perles, Light-Difusing Perfecting Primer, one of the star products of Guerlain
This gel primer is the first makeup base with pearls of light. Of course when you pump out, it doesn't shoot pearls but rather in a watery form. The pearls are made from an exclusive color control base to camouflage blemishes and uneven skin tone. Combined with pearlescent extracts to capture and reflect light and blur the appearance of fine lines without adding shine.

Parure De Lumiere - Light-Difusing Foundation Moisture Infusion
This is one of their new products for the Fall 2012 range. The foundation not only moisturizes skin but provides a healthy glow as well. The ingredients are extremely rich in minerals which gives skin a smooth and fresh finish.
Ahh~ Who could forget Guerlain's star product, the Meteorite Pearls
Inside this chest of treasure is six multicoloured pearls that blend together to create a flawless and radiant complexion. The Meteorite Pearls are based on the technology of white light which is used in photography and film to erase imperfections and soften features. Hmm.... sounds like a must have for cosplay! XD Just swirl your brush in then apply a light layer on your face after applying foundation.

THIS. THIS IS GOD! This is my most favorite product in the workshop!
Just to give you guys a clearer look at the packaging
Guerlain's Precious Light Illuminator is the magic want for makeup! >A< This illuminator hides imperfections and very suitable to cover dark eye bags *_*b. Just dab a little along the under eyes then slowly use your finger to blend it. Long term results include diminishment of fine lines and smoother skin. I used the illuminator to cover my eye bags and smile lines during the workshop.

Eyeshadow shade used for the day
Next we dabbled with lip and eye makeup :D Sue recommended me green eyeshadow since I was wearing a light green skirt that day and surprisingly it matched me well, probably because of the earthy shades. Next, Guerlain introduced their new range of lippies for the Fall 2012 collection.

Rouge G Le Brilliant Complete Shine Lipcolor
The original, creamy richness of Rouge G has now been combined with the lightness of color. Rouge G Le Brillant has mastered the art of blending this incredibly full-bodied texture with shimmering light colors. Deep in the heart of this precious treasure, an extraordinary formula complete with ruby powder fills the lips with moisture, making them ultra-smooth, plump and glistening. Spectacular yet refined, Rouge G Le Brillant emits a subtle shine and reveals all the beauty of an ultrafeminine ritual. The secret? A clever balance between glamour and softness unveiled by a truly unique formula.

Rouge G l'Extrait' Lip Color
Liquid, creamy, consistent, ultra-pigmented and velvety, the Rouge G l'Extrait exceptional lip color is the perfect combination of a lipstick and a gloss that ensures an incredibly sophisticated look. The liquid texture glides gently across lips and within a few moments, the silky color becomes matte. A non-sticky, nondrying and non-feathering texture leaves your lips looking flawless for hours.

Also, introducing Guerlain's Noir G Mascara, the first mascara to come in a  luxurious looking case with a mirror
New Noir G is the first mascara to combine the extravagant luxury of a jewel case with a mirror and an extraordinary formula that adds volume, lengthens and curls. Ultra-black pigments create perfectly defined eyes without any risk of smearing, smudging or clumping. A fortifying agent helps to regenerate lashes by stimulating keratin for fortification and lash growth. Like a magic wand, the ground-breaking Noir G goes one step further with a refillable applicator, making it convenient and easy to switch to a new wand as soon as you need it. Pull on the case and with a click, the hidden mirror is revealed. Add a quick twist and the brush appears, ready to create exceptional, stunning lashes.

The packaging just screams CLASS and I love how the packaging comes with a mirror so ladies won't have to fish out their compacts when touching up :D. As for the lippies, it left me with a confused look as I was looking at a moisturising lipcolor that gives a moisturising shine to the lips and also a lipstick + lipgloss combo that comes in a lipgloss form yet gives a matte finish. Confusing yes? Thank heavens Sue was around XD so she suggested I try mixing both the lipcolors so have a red-orangey color. According to her, the lipcolor can stay on your lips for up to 4 hours. The mascara is a so-so for me as I'm not a fan of mascara's. Fake eyelashes are the best! :D

After our makeup session, there was a surprise in for us! Before the session, they placed a small sheet of paper with Guerlain's logo under our chairs so whoever has it will get a prize. And I got it!!! *O* scored myself a cream eyeshadow fro Guerlain :D
Me and mah prize! :D
That flawless finish! ;A; and I love how my eyes pop out after using Guerlain's eye pencil. I've only been able to get that look from using liquid eyeliner *w*b. There were also refreshments served after the makeup session courtesy of Chinoz. What better way to test out the lippie staying power >D
Treats from Chinoz :D Turkey Quiche, Mushroom Stick and Egg Sandwiches nyam~
I have to admit, the staying power of the Le Brilliant and l'Extrait lipcolor is pretty decent but it didn't last past the second meal XD;;
Goodie bag that consist of Skincare, Makeup and Perfume samples :D
My prize: Guerlain Ombre Fusion Cream Eyeshadow
Sue mentioned how this eyeshadow still stays on your lids after swimming! LOLOL gotta try that one day :D Thank you HELLO! Malaysia for organizing this workshop and giving me the opportunity to get up, close and personal with Guerlain :D I've been totally hoodwinked by Guerlain's products! Loving almost all of the products used during the workshop. I hope I'll be able to buy the Light-Diffusing Perfecting Primer and Meteorite Pearls soon >w< and not forgetting the Precious Light Illuminator too! It'll be darn useful for me for work~

Young Hearts Bra Fitting Workshop

PS: Sorry for the typo at the title T_T

Just sharing some news of one of my favorite brands. Young Hearts is having a bra fitting work shop at their Tropicana boutique. I love fitting workshops as they help me learn more about the sizing for a brand. Different lingerie brands have different sizing which makes it damn confusing... geez... wonder why can't they come up with a one-only International size ~_~;; I could be a B75 at Sloggi and yet in Xixilli I wear a D75 wtf.... 2 cups difference. Moving on to the details of the workshop!

Click on the image for more info! :D
I own a few Young Hearts pieces myself and they're really comfortable and have really cute patterns yet so simple :3 Price is VERY affordable too <3. You can check on their latest collections at their website: Young Hearts Lingerie

For those who are going, seeya guys there!!! (if I have no plans forced onto me lol)

PS: Did you know, this is the company that brings in Sorella, Minoshe and Pierre Cardin? :D

Origins: Get Out Of The Red

On Friday I got a call telling me that someone backed out of the Origins workshop and asked me whether I wanted to attend. I couldn't say no of course XD I've never attended Origins workshop before and this workshop is free with refreshments and door gifts! So today, I rushed my errands as quickly as possible before making my way to Maya Hotel for the workshop. I found an open area parking 2 blocks away for RM4 per entry or I could've parked at the hotel and get a flat rate of RM8 after validation from the concierge (like hell I'd pay!).

The workshop is held at the Sky Lounge on the 13th floor. They gave me a pair of slippers to be worn in the lounge XD (which they forced us to take it home as well).

The place looks super comfortable!! Everyone's dressed in red since that's the dress code but the name of their workshop is Get Out Of The Red, oh the irony.

The testing table! *drools* Other tables had candles TwT

The food which sucked in my opinion. Very little choice but hey I'm not that unhappy about it.

All is good with Twinnings Tea! *o*/

Today's workshop talks about skin inflammation and having a good night sleep, how their products, Dr Andrew Weil range will help solve the problem. The speaker asked for 3 volunteers to let them 'understand what pain is' by giving them a strip of wax and asked them to wax their own legs D8 and then apply Origins Mega Mushroom Face Lotion which will help reduce the redness on skin. The lotion is often used for their facials so that customers won't walk out of the centre with a tomato face XD;;

Another product they highlighted during the workshop is the Night Health Bedtime Balm. A balm that works like a massage oil, spreading it onto the key relaxation points on your neck, shoulder and feet to relax the body. They gave us a generous amount for us to try. I'm not sure whether it's the lack of sleep I had for the week or the balm working but I had the best 2 hour nap when I came home XD;; This is one product I might consider to purchase.

Part 2 of the workshop was about keeping makeup simple and Bobbi Brown did a demo on how to do a quick touch up for daily makeup. This is the first time I've heard a makeup artist telling me there's no need for foundation XD;; and I approve! Didn't stay long to get my makeover done as my dad wanted to go Tesco.

The door gift from Origins. Ginger Burst body wash and 2 liptints. There was also a sample redemption voucher from Bobbi Brown, 1 RM50 cash voucher, 1 furry clutch and 1 pouch from Maxi & Co which is not in picture.
