April's Bag of Love

April's Bag of Love goes green in honour of Earth Month. Thought since it was about going green, I took the little pouch to the hill behind my house for a little photo session :D

This bag is made of bleach-free canvas and the little tag inside is made of recycled non-woven material. Though delicate, this bag is extremely heavy duty. The products for this month's bag are either of natural origins or contribute some way or another to the environment.

A total of 5 deluxe samples + 1 sachet + 1 voucher :3
From left to right

1. Phytojoba Intense Hydrating Shampoo (200ml for RM88)
Interesting enough, this is the first time I've seen a shampoo in an aluminium can. Phyto's products are all packed in aluminium or glass packaging to reduce the use of preservatives in its production. The mini bottle can be used to plant a seed or refill with your own skincare and bring along during your travels. Will most likely be giving my mum the bottle once I'm done using it hehe. Phyto is available at Robinsons The Gardens, Sephora and selected Sasa and Parksons Shopping Centre.

2. The Body Shop Quiet Night Dreamy Pillow & Body Mist (100ml for RM59)
Been wanting to get my hands on this when Body Shop first released the product. Don't know why I didn't get it haha. Just spray this on your pillow or anywhere on your body before sleep and you're in for a peaceful night. It has a special blend of relaxing ingredients from jujube date and Community Trade camomile which helps balance and soothe the mind. I haven't had a chance to try this out yet as I always hve a time that I have to wake up to... and I'm afraid that with this mist.... I might wake up late ;A;

3. Nuxe Brightening BB Cream SPF30/PA++ (30ml for RM120)
This is Nuxe's first BB cream . Formulated with white crocus, daisy, green tea flower, mallow, borage oils, and natural mineral pigments (silica), it works wonders to provide light coverage for the skin and at the same time, brighten, moisturise and soothe it. I'm not a big fan of BB cream as it makes my skin reaaaalllllyyyyyy oily and greasy but I'll give this a try I suppose.

4. Burt Bees Richly Replenishing Cocoa & Cupuaçu Butters Body Lotion (170ml for RM62.80)
I'm one who rarely uses body lotion because often I feel like wiping them off on the blankets XD;; This body lotion absorb quickly leaving the skin baby soft and smooth up to 24 hours. This product has the softening properties of cocoa and cupuaçub butters and nourishing botanical moisturisers from sunflower and olive oils.

5. Decleor Hydra Floral Moisturising Cream (50ml for RM271)
This refreshing moisturising cream provides an anti-pollution protection to the skin, while leaving it soft, relaxed and protected. With 85% of its ingredients derived from natural origins and with no parabens or mineral oils, your skin will exude beauty from within. I fell in love with Decleor products when I went for my first facial at Is'belle, Subang Parade. The facial session left my face super smooth for months! I'll definitely be using this product for special occasions (before shoots *coughs*) or when I'm travelling. Mi Mi has also included a facial voucher allowing Bag of Love members to enjoy Decleor's Signature Aromaplasty Facial at only RM98! (NP: RM230) Sadly I don't have the time to go enjoy the facial this month T_T. Such a pity to burn the offer :(

6. Definite Contour Brush (RM88)
Made of super-soft, high-grade goat hair, this brush blends powder effortlessly over the face for a smooth and professional finish. Just what I was looking for! :P It was the only thing missing from my brush collection hehe. Also FYI, Definite brushes are now exclusive to Bag of Love. They used to have 2 outlets in Sunway Pyramid but now you can't get it anywhere. Mi Mi has hinted that they have more Definite brushes coming soon so do subscribe to Bag of Love!

----------
I love all the products but my favorites would go to the Definite brush and also The Body Shop mist. There's so much goodies stuffed in a tiny bag, I can't wait to see what the May bag would bring :D Speaking of May bags... Mi Mi has posted a hint for May's Bag of Love theme

May's bag is themed 'Best of Beauty' hence the luxurious looking bag *_* Some of the brands that will be in the bag are Crabtree & Evelyn, Calvin Klien, Elizabeth Arden and Keratase hohohohoho~ I'm so psyched!!! >w< Are you?

Only Beauty Blogger's Launch Party

Heyhey~! Nothing better than to celebrate the new year with a post on one of the last parties I attended :D I got so busy till I had no time to blog about it T_T I'm so sorry!!! Back in November (yes it's late >_>) I had the honor of joining OnlyBeauty's family to be part of their Beauty Blogger's Program! I was having too much fun till I forgot to take pictures @_@ *blush* so most of the pictures are from OnlyBeauty's Facebook album :D

Laughter yoga? I had the image of myself practicing the sun salutation while laughing at the same time lol
Being part of Only Beauty's Bloggers Program, of course the only way of celebrating is by PAMPERING first thing on a weekend! :D I was pretty excited since this is the first time I'll be getting a manicure and pedicure!!! *cues horrified screams* Yes yours truly is 20+ and hasn't been for any pampering other than occasional facials.

The place wasn't that hard to find fortunately. Place was beautifully decorated with balloons from PartyMooMoo. I just want to take all them helium balloons home!! *O* I love helium balloons as much as I love bubble wrap :D *gets whacked* I just wanted to take a whole bunch of them and run around like a little kid.

Clumsy camwhoring of me XD;; The dresscode was pink so I wore my strawberry dress and Sereni & Shentel hairband~ Oh yes and Pusheen resting on my chest :P

Since me and a few other girls were one of the early birds, we were set off to do our manicure/pedicures first :)

Me having my nails done~
Being a first timer for a mani/pedi, I was deathly afraid of the sharp objects OAO

While we were enjoying being pampered, Ms Eve from Colourzwork to aid us in finding out our color personality :D. Seems that there are 9 colors incolved and there's calculations that require your birthdate to determine your color personality. She first asked us to pick a color that we think represents us best from a pack of coloured balloons.

I took red.
Never knew why, the color just seems to appeal to me XD;; I have quite a number of red clothes and even my first tennis racket is red. The vibrant the red is, the more I love it XD

Next we were though how to calculate using our birth date to get our life color. Mine turned out to be oraange! Close enough :P

Orange Personality
  • Enthusiasm, fun, health, wide interests, humor, expressive
  • Creative, joyful, spontaneous, adaptable, self-respecting
  • Looks on the bright side of life
  • You love live, decide what you want and go for it

You can read more about it at Miss Eve's Colourzwork page :)

Got my nails painted in funky orange :D

After our mani/pedi session, it was time to stretch and laugh to our hearts content with Kitty, our Laughing Yoga instructor XD;; She's so jolly, one look at her and you can't help but to smile~ She thought us how to laugh while doing simple stretches. I can't help but admire how she laughs so effortlessly~ I guess it's all about practicing and keeping the mind clear :)

Laughing Yoga with Kitty

Next we had a laughing contest to see who can laugh the longest! This is just Kitty letting us warm up before the real competition begins XD;;

Winner went to Fatin! :D Her laugh was so infectious that Kitty couldn't stop laughing! XD;;
Prize was a Yoga mat :D

A celebration, can't end without cake! Here's all us 10 bloggers + Tammy cutting Wondermilk's signature Lola Rainbow Cake!

Photo session with all the bloggers. Dammit I'm the shortest of them all >_>;;
Other than Tammy calling me a Strawberry SHORTcake :P, I had a super fun time being pampered and laughing with all the girls! :D Thank you OnlyBeauty for having this programme and Tammy for bringing us together

To the people that organized such a lovely event :D

Scalp & Hair Beauty Workshop by René Furterer

A woman's hair is her crowning glory. We pay a lot of attention to our hair because everyone else will. It's one of the first things people notice at a first glance. Thanks to all the social pressure, we women spend a lot of time to make sure we tame that insane mane of ours before we step out of the house. It's frikkin serious business and René Furterer knows it!

Last week I received an invite from Tammy to attend René Furterer's Scalp and Hair Beauty Workshop organized by OnlyBeauty. Was quite keen to attend since I've been wanting to get my scalp analyzed :D Last time I went for a scalp analysis at Himalaya but unfortunately I applied some essential oils so they couldn't tell me the status of my scalp T_T. This time I made sure I leave the house with my unruly hair..... *wears paper bag on head*

"Beautiful hair grows from a healthy scalp like a plant in fertile soil" -René Furterer 1957

Of course, to have beautiful hair, one will have to know how to take care of their scalp. For over 50 years, René Furterer designed treatment products that treat both scalp and hair. Their treatment products are based on plat extracts and essential oils, well known for their therapeutic properties. These ingredients naturally provide hair with the elements to improve its health and beauty. The following pictures are a mixture of mine and some stolen from Arisa because I'm a bad photographer =(

Speaker for the day: Mr Damien, PFDC Asia Pacific Trainer
Damien introduced René Furterer's hair care range which consist of 18 types of treatments stretching to over 50 products as each treatment has their own type of shampoo, conditioner, sprays and etc. Instead, I'll spare you the long post and direct you to their product ranger here: René Furterer Product Range. As you can see they have treatments catered to almost any type of hair condition. Products can be mixed depending on hair condition as well.

René Furterer also created a scalp and hair care method that is recommended to optimize the growth of strong, healthy and beautiful hair.

The first step starts with a scalp massage. Massages have a therapeutic effect while reinforcing the effectiveness of the hair treatments. René Furterer's scalp massage can be done in the comfort of your home in just 3 easy steps.

Hands on demo during the workshop with Arisa as the guinea pig :D
Next comes the treatment process which consists of 4 steps.
Just as you thought shampooing and conditioning is sufficient

The first step is to prepare the scalp by performing the scalp massage mentioned above together with their product, the Complexe 5.

The Complexe 5 is a must have in René Furterer's scalp and hair care routine. It strengthens hair from the route while deeply cleanses the scalp and optimizing the effectiveness of René Furterer's treatments. The Complexe 5 is made out of 53% pure essential oils of Orange and Lavender  Just massage the oil on to dry scalp before shampooing.

Next comes shampooing depending on your hair condition. Will go more into that later.
Step 3: Conditioner/Mask
Lastly, the treatment~
Seems like quiet a handful doesn't it? My mind was already spinning with the amount of products they have @_@. After the workshop, we had a scalp analysis session where we have experts to scan our scalp and recommend the idea scalp and hair care routine for us :D (phew!).

Yay I had Damien to scan my scalp!!! *gets smacked*
First we had to answer a series of questions regarding our hair condition.
Then comes the moment of truth DUN DUN DUNNNNNN. Damien scanned my scalp and compared it to other pictures of scalp types.
My scalp and hair care routine :D
Thankfully my results show that I have a pretty healthy scalp but suffering from a period of hair loss. I'm guessing it's the sleeping late habit XD;; Damien recommended me a mixed ritual between the Carthame and Myrrhea range to provide sufficient moisture to my dry-ish hair and tame the hairs near my forehead~

René Furterer products are available at selected Sasa outlets or if you find the routine a bit too tedious for your time, you can always opt for a visit at their boutique located at Pavilion for a personalized consultation and treatment :D

Nature Republic's Member Service

Hey all! Just want to share some news from Nature Republic as I've been a fan of their products, especially their Trouble Spot Clear Patch which sadly has been discontinued T_T. Anyways, just to update you guys regarding their membership upgrading service which is from 5th Oct to 11th Oct:

For current members, just bring your old NR card to be replaced at any nature Republic Outlet and get a RM5 voucher to be used in their store! Better be quick as there's only 3 days left :D
Left: Old member card, Right: New member card + my RM5 voucher :D
Gonna miss you *sniffs*
To be honest, I prefer the old card design =/ really gonna miss it *sniffs* TT___TT. Oh, forgot to mention that the member card gives you 10% discount for any purchase in the store :D I've manage to save quite a bit with the member card as I used to get the Trouble Spot Clear Patches for my pimples. Sadly it's discontinued now T_T but I'm still getting stuff from Nature Republic. One I'd recommend is:

Soothing and Moisturizing Aloe Vera Gel
This is one of the best sellers in Nature Republic and it's only RM30+ for a 300ml tub! I've had this for a few months and I've no idea how to finish it! I love this product as its both moisturizing and soothing so it's suitable as a moisturizer for my face :D The texture is a lot thinner compared to the 100% Aloe Vera's that you get from Watsons and Guardian so it doesn't feel very thick and clogging my face. I'm using this as a moisturizer, lotion and even to soothe my friend's sunburns during the Hari Belia event XD;;

Here's a rough guide by Nature Republic on how to use the Aloe gel :D Hmm... gotta try it as hair treatment next :P

And guess what....? :D
They're having a MEMBERS DAY!!! :D
YEEEAAAAAHHHHH!!!!! Members day is pretty soon too!!!! This Friday to be exact WOHOO!!! Planning to buy their Bamboo Series Eye Cream to try :D

Follow Nature Republic on Facebook to get more updates!! :D
Nature Republic Malaysia

If  knew their members day was soon, I would've saved the RM5 voucher for then *sniffs*
Bought 2 masks at RM5.90 each :D
